Thanks for the help so far guys, at least we all agree that the 60ft times are crap, but I do not have the money to burn'em off or buy slicks, so a 2.09 will work for now... but thank you for your other pointers. I will do a search for Preditor Tunes, see if that brings anything up. And in the morning, (if it's not still raining) I'll meassure that pulley and let you all know. 16deg timeing is alot diff then my -2 and -5% rich! Thanks for pointing that out, I'll stay out of the throtle until I get this figgured out. Gerrr, I am really starting to get pissed at this guy who had this before, who knows what he really did to this thing! Well, let me try and fix this tune, and see if I can get my top end up thier.

You might want to spell it correctly then--> it's Predator, NOT Preditor

Angry

Wow, I found out not only why my tune is off, but why my et is off compared to my MODs!!! The A$$HOLE lied to me! I have mesured the pullies, and thier both stock! So the tune that was installed was for 14 to 16 lbs, I figure I am boosting over the stock gage because the 90mm MAF, K&N and the Predator. I am going to retune to just 90mm MAF and K&N, see if that helps. What would be better, advance timeing, or retard with 10 to 12 lbs boost? How ritch should I run it? Also, befor I reprgram, do I need to intall the stock tune first? Then intall the performance tune?

If you are 100% stock cept that Maf and Drop in Filter that would be more in line with the 100 MPH and ET you ran ; o )

What exactly did the Lower Pulley measure ??? Do you have a Pic by any chance ? The stock pulley is very diff than an aftermarket and easy to spot.
Stock boost is usually @ 8-9 lbs, with the Filter you can def get over 10lbs.

And as said "if" he has the ORIGINAL 6lb generic Predator tune in there,
that tune is DANGEROUS, many have blown their motor with it.
It's all in the tune BELIEVE ME I KNOW
My tune was FK up and I blew my BUILT MOTOR as a result *)@$%)&@^$%)@$%()@$%@($%@)$%@$)%@$)@%$)@%$)@$%)@$@ $

My advice would be to show a pic of that pulley, def determain if it's stock,
BTW this is a stock pulley

then go find a used 4lb or 6lb lower pulley (you'll find one used for $50.00 no prob)
Search E-Bay daily, there always there
Here the link to the search result for "Ford Lightning Pulley"
http://motors.search.ebay.com/search...rclo=&saprchi=

Aftermarket come a few diff ways, #1- like the stock caged type Pulley, (as shown in the above picture).

#2 an interchangable type caged type, shown here.
(sorry cant link to JDM pic's for some reason, click link)

#3- a hub and ring design, allowing it to be changed later very fast and easy) Here's a pic of that (there's one on that e-bay link, but you can find a used one CHEAP)

#4 a one piece pulley (non caged) Thats what most run

Install one, and then have the truck tuned BY A TUNER, that will cost @75.00 for a mail order tune. For $125.00 - $150.00 you'll have a 12 sec Lightning, AND KNOW IT'S SAFE.

BTW
Sal (PSP) does Predator Tunes http://www.powersurgeperformance.net/

13.6's would be great if your running stock lower & upper pulley on a 2000 in your conditions!

FIRST...Lower the F1s to 26psi. Heat them up for 5-6sec and roll out ot the line. Launch @ 1,500rpm 1/2 throttle for a spit sec then mash the gas! That wiil net you GREAT 60fts. I've ran 1.80s on F1s all day long a modded truck.

Second... We L owners need EVERY bit of 1st and 2nd gear. If your back peddling and 1/2 gasing in both gears then you leaving TONS of ET and MPH on the table.

Third...Dont plan on using the stock Pred tunes and being happy. A good custom tune will pick up 3-5mph over those generic loads of crap. And don't b1tch about it if you do. With the exception of 1 or 2 people NOBODY runs great ET on those tune.

Fourth and final... Let the L cool down after every pass untill the coolent gauge is right off the bottom hash. That's where it needs to be to runs the best ETs.

Have a great day,
J

As always Rob, thank you for your insightfull reply!

The picture of the stock pulley is what I have. I measured it at a bit over 7.5 inches, and the upper was 3 inches. I used a straight edge, so not accurate to the .100 but you get the idea.

I have bean checking E-bay, as soon as a 4lb comes up for 50$ or less, it's mine! If anyone has one, please let me know.

In Feb, I am going to take my SVTL to the guy who tuned my SVTF. He is a Mustang guy, but he got my SVTF to run a 12.36 @ 111.5 with 12lbs. He uses the Predator too, so hopefully he'll do my SVTL some good.

I have retuned to the Generic Predator Tune for the 90mm MAF Performance Tune. Anyone have any tips on what I should set the timeing on? Advance, or retard? The fuel, rich or lean? Right now I have it as ritch as it will go, and 5% retard to be safe.

Thanks guys for the props, makes me feel better to know that my crappy ET is actually not that bad for my MODs. And for tips on how to launch this beast!

i would leave the timing right where it is (maybe retard it just a bit)... The generic predator tunes are real agressive, and advancing timing or leaning it out could very easily get you a custom block ventilation system with the cooler winter air. 13.7 is pretty good considering the conditions and that it's a 2000 with minimal mods. A good custom tune and a better launch could net you even better times. Slap a 4 or 6lber on it with a good tune and you've got yourself a mid-high 12s truck. sharp lookin L by the way

Thanks guys!

One more real quick one... My upper is almost a purple, not black at all, you can not tell real well from the pictures, but I was wondering if anyone knows if it may be a 2.8 upper? I messured it with a straight edge, and it is just under 3", but that was eye balling it over the bolt. The lower is 100% stock. And still no luck finding a 4lb or 6lb for 1/2 price yet!
