Thumbs up Calling JRW67

Jim,

I'm making tomorrow a total car day! See you at Speedworld in the morning, just read you put D/R's on, I'll bring the camcorder. Then I'm hitting the Barret Jackson Auction, then the Pavillions to show my vette in the evening. See you in the morning!

If you're not going for any reason, please advise.

Jim

I assume you will get there around 9:00, thats when I plan on showing up.

Don,

Not sure about time for Barrets, I also have to run over to Mesa to look at a snowmobile. Sometime mid-day, and then Pavillions probably 5-6pm. It will probably be more crowded than normal due to the Barret Auction. I'm gonna email you my cel number, call me anytime tomorrow, also, give me your number if you want.

Peter..most likely about 9:30-10:00.I know you'll have a tight schedule but last time we waited in line forever just to be the first ones out on a cold track with no fresh rubber laid down. Well we had fun anyway..

Question

Jim,

So how many runs did you make after I left? What were your times? What did you find was the best launch technique on the D/R's.

Peter...Not exactly what I was hoping for. It's a good thing you took off because I didn't get my #2 run until 2PM.My#2 run was a 13.50@101.34 with some wheel spin(2.0 60ft)
After that I never got close again due to the return of the "no boost"on three straight runs.I finally got it figured out, but by that time it was hot and the truck was hot from four runs in a row.It took all day to get a hang of the tires ,but I think I've got it now.Looked the Bassani on Wes's truck and was very impressed by the quality.

Jim,

Sorry to hear about your runs, but looks like it was a learning curve day. I think you will be armed and ready for the next time out to run the low 13's.

When talking with the other Lightning driver, did you find out what his best run of the day was. While I was there I video taped him run a 14.02 and 13.96. I would have definitely hoped for better times w/the full Bassani exhaust and D/R's.

hey guys I stopped bt Wes' house & talked a while to him. I think he said his best time was a 13.9 or 13.8, he didnt seem to happy with it. He mentioned that he needs to lower something on his Cal-tracs next time out. Think he is still working on his launch technique. Oh well, hey I think I will be going to the drags on Feb 5. I want to go to Firebird, but there are jus too many damn cars there. Wes said he went fri night to Firebird @ 6:30, hos first run wasnt until 8:00 his next came @ 11:30. Man that would suck.

Yoda,

I think there are too many people in the valley. We need to move somewhere less populated. I saw on Mikes Motorsport page that he made like on the order of 30 runs in one night! Must be nice. Keep me posted on the 5th, sounds like a plan. I had a great day on the stock market today and I almost ordered all my goodies for the vette, and then like a dummy, I reinvested it again, so looks like I'll still be stock for the next trip.

yoda

read your post about wes with the bassani
x-haust. 13.9 in the 1/4 would be disappointing. did he ever run at the track
before installing the exhaust? how did it
compare? did he feel it was just a traction
problem? i know, alot of questions, but
i'm about to order the system and so hearing
this kind of report since it cost quite a
few $$$. any feed back would be appreciated.

LFreak...Sorry to jump in on Yoda's question.
I checked out Wes's truck at the track sat. and I must say I'm very impressed with the sound and quality workmanship of this system.
He seemed somewhat put out that with the exhaust and slicks I still was 3tenths faster but I assure you that when his chip & filter are installed he will be pushing 12's.(If I was limited to only one mod it would be a filter)Once again the exhaust was vey impressive I doubt you'll be sorry you bought it.
