Unhooking battery and chips

I have a Diablo Revolution chip in my '02. What, if any, precautions should I take when disconnecting the battery?

I would recommend loosening up the bolts on the terminal clamps...

The only precaution I would take is to make sure the keys were not in the ignition when disconnecting or connecting the battery.
