Cervani Hood or AAD Hood
Could someone give me the quality & workmanship on these 2 hoods. I have around $500.00 to spend for a new hood but would like the best with possibly a funtional ram air kit. I don't have any idea on the cost of the AAD hood but I think the Cervani Hood is around 429.00 with the ram air running around 179.00. Also if anybody has photos of the Cervani hood I would like for them to e-mail me at asdeman@mmcable.com
Thanks,
Terry

Both can be made to be functional, but I would check into the weight of them. Wyldman says that his AAD hood weighs more than the stock one. In my world if it ADDS weight, it doesnt go on! Personally I like the AAD one. I had the Mahc style hood on my stang, looked good, bit when I saw a pic of it on a "L" I didnt like it. Its to "boxy" looking for the truck that is very "flowing" or smooth like our truck is. Tha AAD looks like it was made to follow the lines of our truck.
Fit and finish of the AAD piece is excellent. I had it on when we met in Norman last year. There is a ram air kit for it, but I have only seen it listed in the paperwork Autobahn sent me when I bought it.
I think any good, rigid fiberglass hood is going to be heavier than the stock aluminum hood from Ford. The weight difference is not vast, but it is appreciable.

Wyldman: Your hood does look great but what is the price I'm try to stay out of my own pockets. I just need the price of the hood without the paint & installation fees.
Thanks,
Terry

Gentlemen, I am beginning to smell a rat here.
On one post, it is a $5000 paint job in a non standard color. In another, he is going to get some extra wheels and tires. Now, a $1000 hood setup
I think I know why Terry did what he did at the airport and the results thereof.
Smart sucker, ain't he?

Hey all, Sal here. Wait until you guys see the hood I am working on for our 99
Nothing too crazy, but you musclecar guys will love it!! (hint, hint) It's not going to be a hood that I will sell, it's to make the PSP truck unique and stand out at the large Ford events.

Bill: I actually argued for several days about getting the 29K they said the vehicle was worth, I don't think I could actually sell it for that much but GEICO jacked up the price so the repair would not meet their 60 to 65 percent value on totalling it. I would favor a Y2K silver bolt but they will not budge so you can bet I'm going to spend all 15 to 16K that the estimate warrants. My body shop guy left the suspension open on the estimate, so I will defintley make sure the beast handles perfect or I will be looking for a roush suspension. I'm just playing their insurance game to the best of my ability.
BTW, Bill I will be in Atlanta this week give me your number I would like to meet you & Moby. If the traffic isn't a standstill because of superbowl week there.
Sal you have a prototype you want to sell, hehe.
99.5 Lightning ??????????????????????????
Later,
Terry

Terry,
As I recall, I paid $595 for the hood itself.

AAD's website still lists it at that price, sans ram air kit. I wish Autobahn had a website, I need to look into the ram air for the Black Beast.
