Help please......coolant sprays out under WOT

As the title says....under WOT coolant comes out of my overflow bottle. It sprays back toward my air filter causing the truck to die. What is causing this? Please help!

That's usually an indication of a blown head gasket, or at least badly lifting heads. What's your setup?

exactly what he said. Mines doing this but still runs. Oil comes out and hits the exhaust and smokes and the coolant sprays out. But the coolant isnt mixing with the oil thank god. For now I just put a towl over the overflow cap so it wont spray everywhere. It runs good i just dont have the $$ to fix it

Mine only dose it under high boost or high rpms

What's happening is your cylinder pressure is so high, that with the stock TTY head bolts, they are stretching under load and letting the heads lift. That allows cylinder pressure to blow into the coolant passages and blow it out the overflow. When you get off the throttle, the heads seat back down. I had this same problem years ago with the stock motor on my 01 and lots of spray.

Sal, the truck has ARP head studs that were installed when the motor was built. Do you think its still the problem?

If that's the case, then maybe the heads and or block are not sqaure and it's not sealing well under high pressure.

Just because they are there does not mean they are right. Might not have been torqued correctly. You might try taking the valve covers off and checking the TQ on them. Might be too late, but never know.

Or there could be a block/head problem where it's not square.
