Unexpectly picked up an 02' blue lightning with 4,560 original miles, looking like it just rolled off the showroom floor. When to buy my wife a new Lexus RX, they tried to screw me on my trade-in, and happened to see this on the lot. Couldn't believe the mileage or the price 20k, wife insisted, done! Already looking for the best first mods., going to be my daily driver, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Welcome! First mods, well that depends, everyone says their own thing on here. I'd probably do traction bars, but if you want free mods, search the forums for "Boost Bypass" ..don't buy anyhting like some guys do, just unplug it and there are a few more hints that may change the blower sound and such, too. A good air filter, even a drop-in K&N is better than the stock paper one. Most guys change the cat-back exhaust system, but you only gain sound there, no real Horsepower. The stock exhaust is really efficient, and I've seen guys run 11's in the quarter mile with it. Good luck and you're gonna love it I promise!! Brandon K.

Welcome and congrats!

You will get alot of different responses to your question.
I would say the biggest bang for your buck would be a Factorytech valve body and 4x4 tranny pan for starters. It makes the truck more fun to drive, gives you quicker, stronger shifts. And by making the shift duration quicker you will be making less wear and tear on your tranny. The 4x4 pan is deeper than stock and holds more fluid which means cooler tranny temps.

Then from there I would get a filter kit. Maybe a 4lb lower pulley (gives you more boost and does'nt go overboard, is pretty safe) , and an Idler kit to prevent belt slippage.

These are all bolt on mods and pretty easy to install yourself.

Is your Lightning sonic blue?

Oh also Check out this link, Cool-Aid!! , it's our new forced cool air induction kit. Very nice!!
