Justin I sent my money on 12-16-99. Nothing yet, not even a ETA. I wouldn't get in a hurry. I think Sal took my $500 and skipped the country. LOL

Thumbs up

Hey guys,
I sent out my order 2 weeks ago this coming Friday, and this past Friday I emailed Sal requesting an ETA, Sal immediatly replied saying that he makes them in batches of 15-20, and that it would be another 1-2 weeks before he has them finished. Hopes this helps you out, just remember to be patient, it will be worth it when they come.

Thumbs down

A-Lightning, this bothers me to no end. Sal told me over a week ago mine was the next on the list to be shipped. Either I got screwed, or UPS has done it's famous lost package trick. Frankly, I'm sick of waiting! I only bought the PSP deal because I read about less problems(with pinging) than with the Superchip. I don't know what to think, but I'm not used to sending money in for a product and then waiting over a month to get it in.

My incredible Superchip has yet to do its first ping, and makes the truck run unbelievably strongly. Also my Airaid airbox is amazing. Of course I had to wait two days for delivery from the time I decided I wanted them. The wait was painful, but well worth it. You guys will most likely be sainted eventually due to your incredible patience.

Sal makes a batch of 15 filter kits before he sends out the items for delivery. The chip needs to be burned and is also sent out in a batch I believe. Each product must meet his strict standards. "Strict" remember that word.

This is a matter of enthusiasts wanting the best & being patient for it's arrival, or the impulsive enthusiasts who cut corners, sacrifice quality for another product which may or may not provide an equivalent level of performance compared to another product.

Not once have I seen Sal charge for shipping, or re-burns on the return.

I could be wrong here, but I feel it takes a bit more effort to have the Superchip correctly configured to run without ping/knock. Although the Superchip is a good product I feel the relationship I will gain with Sal will provide me more then I could ever get from Superchip. You can't deal with Superchip regarding your gear swap, or you intercooler problem, etc.

The time it takes on average for arrival seems to be about even, but you receive your Superchip sooner, and return it sooner for further configuration which then requires "downtime".

There seems to be no "downtime" with Sals product except from the time you send the check, to the day you receive the product.

Keep in mind that Sal takes the time to learn the Lightnings intricate details.

Superchip, Airaid, etc. these companies only run basic testing on specifics for the product they sell.

Having an enthusiast like Sal who takes the time to be an enthusiast as well as a knowledgeable product provider is definitely an important factor. I understand that customer service/technical support is important to many people, but there is no need for further support in most cases when purchasing your product from Sal.

He may not be available 24/7, but then again he compensates by providing a product, which exceeds all expectations.

Notice you don't see many e-mails regarding Technical problems with PSP.

You only see e-mails regarding "When is my product going to arrive" or "My PSP kicks butt"

It's worth the wait as many others have expressed, and you will be overly ecstatic once you get it.

Metallic Blue, your right. I ordered from Sal because of his helping people on the board, and because of very few problem post about his products. I just think thirty two days and counting is over the top. How long did you have to wait.

I agree about Sal helping people out, and I normally will go with the small guy, but after reading about all the delays and the resultant unhappy people I wen't with Down's intake kit. It's about $25 more expensive, but if there are less delays, I am willing to go with it. I ordered it last Saturday, 1-15, and I got a mail back it is in manufacture and would be shipped within 10 days of 1-18.... time will tell. I know PSP is a small company, and it is more economical for him to wait for a bunch of orders to make a production run, but I am also a believer in competition-it keeps everyone in business sharp!
