Question Cervini hood?

On page 186 of the Feb. issue of MM&FF is an article and picture of the ram air hood by Cervini. It looks freakin' gorgeous, but of course it is difficult to determine fit and finish from a b&w photo. Had anyone installed one of these on their own L? If so, can you give us a report?

I installed one of the ram air hoods on my 93 Flairside, the fit and finish is #1. I called them on the hood for the L, it's 429.00, and the ram air setup in the article was a prototype, and wont be available for 6 months. Personaly, i'm going to wait and get the whole setup. From what the article said it was worth .5 off hte qrtr times, on a stock L!

Pretty sweet looking, even better that it's functional. How does performance compare to the cone filter kits we've been using? I can't read the print from the picture.

Thanks,
Mike

Checked out your photo, Steve, and I see that you had descreening problems, too. After David's request I scanned the article and picture, but I had a lot of problems with de-screening, and ultimately wound up with a file size way too big to post to the forum. I may go back and try to get, the size down, but in meantime i will send pic to anyone who emails request to <alphadoggy@jetlink.net>
btw, the mag is still on the stands til the end of the month.

Come on now, you guys don't REALLY think that hood is worth .5 in the 1/4, do you? That truck ran 13.50s in the fall at E-town. Even Smith got 13.70s out of a stock 99 at E-town several weeks before in warmer weather. What do you think?

Sal I'm sure its better than a K&N Filter and a pipe. I sure not the hp/$ of the filter either. I do like the looks, a lot.

I checked out the FF&MM article too and called Cervini. They told me that the hood was available now (as stated) but that the intake air system was about 6 to 8 months off. I mentioned to them that I did not want to wait until August for the system. I also had some questions on the packaging of the air system since it sits over the intercooler reservior and I was curious about the routing to the Air meter too. As Sal questioned I wonder about the .5 sec claim. Still it would be cool to duct cold air into the intake.

i know babolt read it because he responded, but i checked out the underhood temps last saturday, and i can't see 5/10ths unless it includes something as good as or better than sal's filter system. https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/001220.html
