Chickenears...a True Class Act!!
Hey all.
I just wanted to make a post thanking Chickenears. He is truely a class act. I called him Friday afternoon reguarding some problems with a ftvb and by Saturday noon the Fedex dude dropped a new one off!!! Tim OVERNIGHTED ME A NEW ONE. He didnt even want me to pay for shipping!! He did not even wait for me to send the other one back!! While talking to Tim on the phone, he said something that I have NEVER heard from any other shop before......that he just wanted me to be happy with my purchase
If all garages and shops could follow his example we would all be better off
I dare say that the majority of my future purchases will defenitly be from him.
THANKS A LOT TIM!!!

Thats cool, I think Tim is a good guy too...............but
I contacted him about his new True-Flow filter that I purchased.
I was having issues with it being extremly over oiled. A friend here has the same issue. Anyway the facts are that as I have a wide band on my truck I was able to see that his filter caused my truck to run very very rich. By rich I mean 10.00 a/f or less. I cleaned my Maf out re-installed my old filter and the wide band went back to the mid 11 a/f that the truck is tuned for.
Tim informed me nobody else was having issues and that I should clean out the filter BUY a re- oil kit from him and try again. Not the answer I was looking for. It's only a 60 dollar filter so no biggie, its now an ornament in my garage. Not trying to flame Tim just stating that not everybody gets the same standard of service.

I will probably clean it out again, will be the third time, I wish it produced gas the was it produces oil LOL.
If I want to clear it out I you will be the first to know.
Like I said in my post I am not trying to start anything, it's a very minor issue. I just think it's fair to point out that most vendors give varying standards of service.

My true flow filter from Tim came with instructions telling me to "massage" the filter while it was still in the bag and then blot the filter with paper towels to remove excess oil.
I guess sometimes it helps to be one of those **** folks who read instructions.

Certainly not that I should have to wash my new filter and buy a new oiling kit.

Best of luck.
I have had nothing but great dealings and extreamlly fast service with Tim FWIW.

Hilander,
I had the same problem but I never called Tim about it. My WBC became so erratic I thought the O2 sensor went bad since it was a year old. I was out $100 for a new sensor to find it was doing the same thing with the new O2. WOT went from 11.7 (S&B) to 10.4 (TrueFlow) and at idle or part throttle it would show rich or just acted crazy. I put the S&B back on and it straightened out. I wish I had tried that before I bought the new sensor but the old one was a year old so no biggie.
I tried to soak up all the oil I could with paper towels inside and out before I ever intalled it. I just attributed it to the fact than it probably didn't flow as well as the S&B filter throwing the tune out of wack.
I bought the cleaning kit with mine so I might try cleaning it just to see what happens. If WOT still stays 1.3 richer it will go back in the box. If I need to pull fuel from the tune then it's probably costing me HP.
I will say it looks good installed though.
