Post FMOS racing

Jeff: Hi again, i just ordered a steeda lowering kit for my 94 and was wondering if you had any pointers for me before the install. It should have both the springs and shackles and should be ok with the stock tire height. I read a some posts on the NLOC list about eccentric bushings being necessarry but others on the list said they weren't needed. Anyhow..as usual..any info is apprecieated. Thanx.

The shackles are a piece of cake. A little aggravating getting the bolt holes lined up but fairly simply to accomplish if you have enough jack to reach the frame and move it independently of the suspension.

The springs require a bit of grunt, both coming out and going in, because of the huge torque numbers on some of the bolts. Again, it's a fairly straight-forward job. No mysteries. But it'd be simpler if you had access to air tools.

I've found that lowering the vehicle will sometimes throw the alignment out of spec by inducing too much negative camber. You'll want to take the truck in for an alignment after you get done or risk chewing your front tires off since God knows the twin I-beam arrangement is already rough enough on the tire edges. It may not need adjusting. If it does, the alignment shop will install the eccentrics and get it all squared away for you.

Hope that's what you needed! Anything else, please ask.

Thanx again Jeff. I'll let you know of the part #'s for the drop kit and the torque convertor/ shift kit when I get em so you can add them to the NLOC parts list if you wish.
