the oil in my truck is really dark and smells like fuel, the truck only haz 2k miles on it.Do any of you run in to this every time you change oil? I by no means abuse my truck. I do get on it now and then but i have done ALOT worse to many of my other trucks with no problem.When should i switch to mobil 1 synthetic.How many miles ? I want this truck to last forever. Usually these are the ones that you baby and they always break, Beat them and never a problem, I just cant do it to my lightning though!!

 

Yep, mine does the same thing....
This is my 10th vehicle with either a turbo or a supercharger, unfortunatly,they all did the same thing except for my 88 T-bird turbocoupe. I am sure it is because of the forced induction/extra fuel at wot. Off to get another case of Castrol.......

My first oil change was at 500 miles, then 1500 miles then every 2K after that. The oil after 2000 mile intervals is a little dirty, not to bad though. People were posting about Mobil 1 and other synthetics last fall I think. The general consensus is to not use the synthetics until 5000 or more miles. Reason being that it takes that long for the rings to seat properly. Sorry to others if this is totally wrong, just going from my memory.
