MafXtender install instructions
I was a little confused before I dug into the MAFXtender (Zone-5) install, as to what wires and where, and didn't see any pics anywhere around here so I thought I'd take some as I did it myself.
The consensus says to tap into your MAF harness right at the PCM. So to make this easy, pull your battery out, and use a 10mm socket to disconnect the pcm wiring harness from the pcm. Pull the harness up into the battery tray so you have room to work. Unsnap the black cover so you can read the pinouts which are labled at the ends of each wiring row on the harness. Snip the Light Blue/Red striped wire that is in Pin #88 and connect the side that goes to your pcm to the white wire, the other side goes to the gray wire. I tapped in to solid Red wire #71 for 12 volt+ power, and there is a handy ground wire just above the harness (but not connected to it). There are other gounds but this was the easiest for me. Plug your MafXtender in.
I wire tied mine to to the inner fenderwell as you can see.
*Note. I did not use the supplied electrical connectors, I soldered everything. I just don't trust those type of connectors to hold up over time.
Most folks will use the 5.5v setting which is 1 ON, 2 Off, 3 Off, 4 Off.
Hope this helps someone. keywords for search: mafx maf extender maf-x mafextender
