Question Blue Book of a 99??? What is it??

Everyone,

I am curious about what the NADA value of the new L is. Here in VA we have our wonderful ( Mucho Sarcasm ) yearly Personal Property tax. I received mine and the Vehicle value was only 16K for the 99.

Obviously the less the value, the less tax I pay so I am not complaining. Everywhere I look, kbb.com & nada.com , is unable to provide values because of insufficient turnaround.

Does anyone have any hard data on values??

PS -- I am not selling --

Thanks

I wouldn't worry too much about the assesed value that the state charges. It's always lower than what the Blue Book value is. On my Mercedes, the assesed value was 10K lower than the price you could buy one for at a dealer and 3K lower than the TRADE-IN value of the car. I'm not sure where or how they figure out thier values, but I hope the keep using that method forever.

By the way, I live in Richmond, VA, where are you Brian?

Brian
I just received my tax/registration renewal notice today, and the value of my 99 Lightning is listed as $26,273. Looks like the guys at the dept. of motor vehicles has caught on. I live in Kentucky.

In the jan 2000 issue of NADA the truck is listed but with no numbers. It shows a retail new at $29,355.00. But no used value given.

I would think a realistic figure for retail of $27k-$31k, trade in $23k-$27k. Could be higher if the y2k's sell over sticker. I bought my 98 Cobra new last February for $24.5k KBB gave a trade in value of $26.9k (that's over sticker!), so it really depends on how many were sold over sticker.
