Hey Guys.
Just checked with friend at airport and the Avgas he has is lolead fuel and no deicer. What do you think? I really dont think if i blend half and half it will damage anything but not 100% certain. Need your comments. Dennis

 

I wouldn't run av-gas. It has been refined to run properly at below zero temps. My engine builder for my 428 indicated that using av-gas could cause piston "melt-down". I run a mixture of 110 octane race gas with 93 pump in the 428.
By the way, there should be no reason to run additional octane with a chip, unless the chip manufacturer advises it.

 

I have ran 100-130 avgas also 100 low-lead avgas. It along with race fuel burns richer than pump gas. Both of these fuel's will NOT harm your cat's or O2's. I can't tell you how many 55gal. drums of the stuff I have used with NO problems.. My 93 F-250 ran on leaded pump gas for 2 or more years before they took it off the market, with NO problems to the cat's & O2's, yes I still have the same 93 today. I have NEVER burnt a piston (2 or 4 stroke) from av/race gas, mix or full.
