Post Is dealer giving me run around?

Brought my 99 Lightning, with 2500 miles, in this morning for an allignemnt. The truck will not track straight and it seems the rear wheels are pushing the vehicle right and left. It won't track straight. After the four wheel alignment they said it was a little out of spec BUT...because the truck has 18 inch tires it is normal....I have a Viper with 19 inch tires and a new Vette with 18 inch tires and this problem does not exist....Could it be radial pull.Is the dealer full of it?

Even before I bought my truck the dealer stated that the truck was designed to pull to the right slightly, is case you had some sort of an medical emergency you would not drift into on comming traffic. All true, the truck pulls to the right on smooth roads, but on bumpy black tops it's all over the place.

You are absolutly right about the dealer being full of it! Thats the standard issue response to give to customers when they bring in a vehicle like ours, as I am a Tech at Central IL dealer, every alignment that i do leaves going straight, warr. or customer pay, work on them as if they were my own. But some people are just happy to get them into spec. As for normal, see how the service mngr feels with one of those F-1's in his/her rear!!!!!

Hey Rumba83 can you elaborate more on your response. I got pushed off the road with 300 miles on my Lightning and popped both tires and bend both rims, pretty hard hit. After the new wheels/tires were put on I had it realigned by Ford and now it drives and pulls exactly the same as before. This contradicts what you’re stating? Not trying to start a flam here, there’s experience on my part and yours, have you truly aligned a 99 Lightning per Ford specs or are you just stating that you can adjust this Ford feature out?

Go take a couple of brand new cars out and wipe out a wheel or two on some curbs. Then go in and tell him "you must be right, those cars pull to the right too" then go get your lightning serviced by a new dealer.
