The place where my wheels are being chromed couldnt chrome the centers.After all of your help i finally got the tire rack to get me some.It is going to be 5 weeks total before i recieve the centers but well worth the wait and the price. I could not find ANYWHERE to get me some.I paid 147.35 for all 4. (kinda steep) but i am very happy just to have them coming.I was notified by MY wheel place today that i can buy chrome centers for $90 set of four.Because I am grateful for the help from the tire rack for helping me when There was nowhere else to get them I still sent them out the 147.35 today.This was because they already ordered them and helped me out alot.I could have saved $60 by just going with my dealer because i did not send out the money until today, but i didnt.This shows that i am appriciative of those who helped me when i was at need,and shows what kind of person i try to be.I would like to tell you all though, now there is a second place to get chrome centers with absolutly no waiting for $90 .If you need my assistance i can get them. they are readily available.They are like a CHROME SKIN over the cap.I would guess the same as the tire rack, i dont know.

Hey BA,
While I am waiting for My '00 L (Silver, the new fastest color! :-) ) I am building the list of things to buy.

For the center caps, on the L, are they metal or plastic? Assuming plastic how do you chrome plastic? I can't wait to hear how your wheels turn out and how they hold up.

Also please let us know what method of balancing you intend to use. The "experts" that I have spoken to say to have the wheels dynamically match balanced....I don't know what this is.

The center caps are factory plastic. They use a chrome film cover. I think its the only way to chrome plastic. The ones ive seen look factory.As far as balancing goes, I dont know. I will have them balanced by the best shop around me and see what happens. The shop told me there are special weights for chrome wheels.I dont mind using the ones on the outside, the only time you see them is when your looking right at them, and they match pretty well.I just want them balanced perfect.I dont mind a little weight on the outside of the wheel as long as they dont shake. performance is more important to me than look,

If you want to see chrome Lightning wheels and the vacuum plated center caps go to http://www.zing.com and look at the chrome wheels and the vacuum plated chrome caps. They are in the Lightning photo album under "mikesmotorsport" so do a search. I waited 8 weeks to get my first set of wheels plated (next set better be quicker). For a real treat I will post a photo of real chrome plated center caps (remember don't ask 'cuz I won't tell) they make the vacuum plated caps look like the Barbie chrome that they are. If you are ever looking for Lightning wheels I know where the best deal is. In fact it is so good that you will want to buy two sets.
