Roller Cam Conversion???
Saw this in the Downs Ford website (http://downsford.com/light.htm)
"Roller Cam Conversion
This kit includes all the necessary hardware to make your Lightning a roller motor. The kit comes with cam, lifters, roller chain, distributor gear, valley pan hardware, and all gaskets. This is a must for getting the most performance out of your truck and has increase 1/4 mile times by up to 4 tenths!"
The price? $499-599.00.
Can anybody explain what this is and what it's supposed to do?
For the life of me, though, I don't understand why anyone would want to spend that amount of money to "increase" quarter mile times!!! hehe

The All new Ford Motorsport Mass Air conversion is the most complete kit on the market today. It consists of the newly designed computer, wiring harness, 80mm mass air meter. RPM limter and speed governor have been removed and shift points are now higher and firmer."
One caveat, though...you can't access these pages from a link within the site...I found the pages after doing a search within the site. Maybe it's an old page or they stopped carrying them but the page that had these items had a pic of the new lightning.

The lightning Valve Train is Over head Cam, roller finger follower. With that said, most anything sold for this valve train will likely be snake oil. (Don't Buy them)
Lighter fingers and Valves would be nice, but it is unlikely they would be durable enough
