10 lb of boost?

I have a 99L and I have put on a 4lb lower pulley. I am running a superchips micro turner for the 4lb pulley. I just got it all running and I am peaking at 10lb of boost on my piller gauge. it is about 80 degrees and about 60% humidity today. Is this normall?

I dunno...with a 2lb upper I was still seeing 10-11lbs of boost in Jacksonville's this summer with temps in the 90's and humidity way up there too.

On the cold days up here in Michigan I'd see over 10# of boost (ford racing gauge) with my BONE stock setup. Even original paper air filter.

10lbs could very well be right, depending on your elevation.

Just had same exact thing happen to me (i'm at 300' elevation and temp at time was 60 degrees)

found a couple of things that got me what i wanted/explained things

1) my Autometer Phantom boost gage needle was BELOW the square static position. i replaced the gage, since i did not want to break in and adjust it. it was actually about a pound or so LOW

2) even though i had the Metco idlers, i changed from a 68.5 to a 68 inch belt

3) (Biggest improvement, i measured after each change) - my boost actuator was resting too much on the stop. it lifts at idle, but under boost, i believe it was not adjusted right. i made some changes, tested changes, etc. and got back 1.5 pounds of boost.

right now, i am right on 13 pounds with a 4lb pulley.

for boost actuator, the rear bolt is a bear, but i found out the right ratchet combo allowed me to adjust in just a minute or so

1) for front - ratchet->6" extension->3" extension->swivel joint->10mm standard socket (not deep well).
2) for rear bolt - ratchet->6" extension->3" extension->10mm standard socket. i taped the socket on, since it looked like a black hole below it. use the black rear vacuum hose as a guide; i put the extension between the hose and the boost actuator to guide me in. you have to do it by feel since you can't see it.

i followed directions from this website on adjustment, raising until off the stop then JUST TOUCHING, and tightened the front then the rear.

hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, I just ran it again this morning(we had a big cold front come threw and it is about 45 deg. and I am at about 300' elevation) and it is still peaking at about 10lb. So what does the actuator do and how can I raise my boost by playing with the bolt position. I would love to get 1.5lb of boost out of the actuator. Also, I dont really know where it is located, so a picture would be great. Thanks for all the help.

if you're standing in front of the truck its on the right side of the blower. kind of underneath your egr. there are 2 bolts that bolt it to the blower.

Thanks for the help guys. I just played with the actuator and holy sh*t if I am not peaking at 12-12.5 lbs of boost. I am going to try to go to the dyno, for the first time, this week and I will post the results I get. Hoping for 450 RWHP but we will see. Thanks again

Bro I wish you all the luck in the world, but if you hit 450 with a 4lb pulley and superchip,
I'M KICKING YOUR ***. (and I mean that in the nicest way)

400/500 would be a VERY GOOD # to hit and if you do you should be very happy with it. BEST OF LUCK

Oh BTW Friday we Dyno'd mine, and it had 24 lbs of Boost
