Lightbulb noob here, get out the paddles!!

Hi all. I've been reading the board for awile. Just never posted. I've never raced the L before,at least not legally.
And all I've got, aftermarket wise, is a FTVB from Chickenears, love it by the way!!, but I wanna put a little more HP behind that bad azz shift.
I was thinkin maybe a 4# pulley and an idler kit and maybe an Excalibrater II. Just for playin around with.

Watduyathink?

KAMELION

I have an 02 by the way.

Welcome, the 4lb pulley is not a bad choice and most defenitly the SCT 2 to top that off with.

God Bless,

Cool

Thanks Suavy, for the welcome and help.
Also, thanks Tim, I felt like a red headed step child for a minute.
Tim, have you got any better pics of your truck, than just the wheels? Nice floor, by the way.
Anybody else with suggestions?

Suavy, What is your Et and your HP? From what I've read, you're sponsored.
Right?

Right?

I'm sad to say I have had issues this year and did not make any numbers that I care to speak of.
Yes I am sponsored by Magnum Powers,Ford Rcaing, Billet Speed Performance, and several club members.

We have quite the list of mods and if we get it dialed in it will be a beautiful thing! I will be working until Christmas on the present set up however if it doesn pan out we will abort and go to our 2006 project.

God Bless,

Suavy

Yea, I was thinking about the Cool-Aid by Chickenears.
Since they put the plexiglass top on it, they said they saw a 22* drop in intake temps, and that True Flow Filter is supposed to be one of the best out there, right? Also the new plexiglass top looks sweat on it!

What do you guys think of it?

Hello and welcome! Go for the six ponder ,sct2 and air kit . You
wont be sorry. Thing is when you buy the 4lb youll be wanting more ,so the six is perfect. You really wouldnt want to put on an 8 unless you go with a built block. Dont get me wrong there are guys whove done it its just not worth the chance in my opinion to go with an 8 on a stock block. Also keep in mind a ported blower is a great bang for the buck. Guys are seeing 25+ hp to the wheels with a ported blower. It keeps the air charge lower wich is always better. I ran a self ported blower and saw 26 more hp and 31 more ft lb of torque to the wheels.

Keep in mind that there are MANY more broke rods with 6# than with 4# and A LOT more with 8# than with 6#

But then it could also be said that there are more blown motors with any pulley than with none...

Personally I stick with 4# and have for 90,000 trouble free miles

Welcome,

Get yourself a 4lb lower, a CAI setup, and a matching tune. Since you have a FTVB you ought to consider some traction bars too. Not so much for traction as much as it's to keep the rearend from over rotating at the 1-2 shift.
