Truck running lean HELP!

Ok I need help!

I recently broke my truck out of storage and went for a ride. It threw two codes. Lean bank1 and lean bank2. It ran fine so I wasn't sure what that was about. I pulled a couple plugs and they are ORANGE!!!! I mean like pumpkin orange. WTF????? I was thinking maybe that was from the fuel conditioner I put in before I stored it, but I have used that stuff many times before with no orange plugs. Now, it seems to be getting worse, throwing codes faster, and stumbling at idle. It did throw a code before I put it away, but I thought that was a fluke, as it was 98 degrees, and the truck was idling for a while when I put it away. What should I check?
Air intake leaks?
Fuel filter?
Pumps?
Fuel pressure?

I am going to do the fuel filter this am. And I will look again for air leaks. But is there an easy way to test the fuel pumps? What should my fuel pressure be?

definately change the filter. i believe your preasure should be 33-35PSI. ive heard some horror stories about the fuel stabilizer clogging the filter..

If your truck was in storage for a while, I'd look at the possibility of a cracked vacuum line or possibly rodent damage to a line (they do love to get in and chew on things).

Changed filter and plugs, still no luck. Now it stumbles on idle once in a while. Checked all vac lines, eveything seems normal. WTF?

Take it to a lightning specific performance shop and have them look at it. When ever REM gets there dyno moved into there new shop I will be heading down there. Check this out, I started a thread with my problem and listed everything that i tried. Maybe it will give you some direction in fixing your truck.

Good luck and if you fix the problem let me know.

my thoughts......

your header gaskets are leaking like a ****.

Remember when we did your convertor I pointed out the exhaust leak on the passenger side. I bet that's what it is.

Truck is running fine, but o2 as sucking air for the leak..........

Just my guess.

Are you home or still down south?

Thanks for the input guys! I didn't even think of the exhaust leaks. Think that would cause a lean code?

Don, ya just got home. I am going to limp it down to jersey this afternoon, and stay for JDM day. Give me a shout saturday and let me know what the plans are for sunday. I'll head up, if for nothing else to shoot the bull with you guys for a bit.

yeah

i won't be racing sunday. We are gonna help Al and my old man is gonna run the stang I think.

Hopefully the rain holds off.

My truck was doing the same **** when my exhaust was leaking. Was way better after i had it welded but still had to have Jim retune it. Jim should be able to throw the scanner on and see what's up. I'll talk to ya.
