Did anyone receive the new publication from Ford? Not really a magazine as much as a promotional booklet, but they had an interesting article on the Lightning, surprisingly they showed pics of the 99 version. They also said by 2001 the L will join the rest of the Ford trucks as a low emissions vehicle (Lightning LE), wonder what changes they will make and if there will be performance losses.

I understand the Lightning LE will boast a huge 500 hp electric motor and the pickup bed will be filled with the world's largest Duracell battery, guaranteed to hold a charge good for at least one 12 second quarter-mile run.

 

go to zing lightning pics. there is a picture of a lightning motor way at the bootm. It looks like a 5.4 with a MINI little itsi bitsy teeni weeni wanna be supercharger on it. I wonder if that is what they are gonna use? if so looks like we are gonna have a big advantage over it. It looks like a blow dryer attached to a motor
