Exclamation Anyone out there using WebTV?

What seems to be one of my not so good Christmas presents to Pat and myself is causing me a few problems.

After many tries, I found I can log on to f150online.com, but I cannot seem to reply or respond to messages etc. I have not read the manual (a real failing of mine with these high tech gadgets, it is embarrasing when I don't understand what they are telling me) so I will use the board again to get educated.

It is neat using the wireless keyboard, but a pain in the rear to have to aim it very carefully or you can input a lot of stuff and lose it due to missed characters or numbers if you don't review your input.

I have also not succesfully reprogrammed any one of the three remotes nor the keyboard to run the TV, WebTV function and the VCR. Drives Pat nuts trying to figure out which remote will do what.

If anyone has any thoughts, please share them as it should be a really neat gadget if I can get it to function as I thought it would.

Bill

Bill,
I work for a cable company and we have several subscribers that have WEB TV.....
In conversations with them they seem to mention the same problems that you do...
The company I work for also offers a similar
product called WorldGate...I have gone through some training on the unit and was shown how to install it and other little goodies..I also happen to have the cable that our company offers and there is no comparison
between the two...if you got the WEB TV just for the purpose of wondering around the web and not interested in things like gifs and real player, and any other real time stuff it is okay...have had many of the problems that you mention on the unit at work....also I have noticed that not too many people seem to
be interested in this method of web access even though we have been trying to sell it to
people that aren't interested in having a computer(cost) but are curious about the WEB....If I can be of any help contact me online....addy is schristey@home.com

Have a GOOD new year.

Hey Bill and Fordy,

Looking into buying a WebTV myself and would appreciate any input that you might have. I hope to buy it today. Is it very slow? Would you buy it again? I just want it to look at this board at night since my PC is at work and I would like to send occasional e-mail or two.

I would really appreciate any info that you could give me, Thanks in advance!

Collin

P. S. Sorry for being off subject, everybody. Bill and Fordy can respond to crcarlock@aol.com
