$15,000 more for a truck that is BARELY faster than a Lightning with more engine related performance mods, that has no forged motor parts, no beefed up tranny, no beefed up rear-end, and a ONE YEAR WARRANTY? Man, where do I sign up?

ASM has always had a premium price for their products, and I have yet to see them rated at the top of their game. For an example of how whacked they are, here's a link to a company that sells the same supercharger they use, but for just under $3900 NOT the $5950 that ASM charges. When you get there, click on the supercharger tab on the left, then go to the bottom of the list.

Keep in mind, this company is also marking up the price of the Whipple so that they can make a profit, so ASM is going even farther than that!

 

That why I posted this, $$$$, way too much for what you get, if it was at 30,000, then it would near reasonable...

Suppose I purchase all options. Is the 5.3L engine modified in any way to handle
the extra power generated with the Whipple? Forged pistons, dished pistons
(lower compression), and is the suspension modified for improved cornering? I'd
also like to know what the top speed is. How about the transmission and rest of the
driveline? I'd hate to blow the doors off a Lightning and cover his/her truck with
hot oil, and miscellaneous transmission parts. Could you clarify the "spare tire
relocator?"

sounds to me like a Lightning in Chevy's clothing. Wish I had those slotted brake rotors.

 

Nice looking truck (for a C***y) but it really makes you appreciate what a great value Ford and SVT/SVE built into our Lightnings. Probably impossible to install (via the aftermarket) all the performance and appearance goodies our trucks come with from the factory and arrive anywhere near our $30K cost for the total package - not to mention having a 36 mo. factory warranty!

Sorry, I knew that was what you were doing. I was laughing at ASM, not at you. Even though it's a great looking truck, I can't believe that someone, somewhere is going to pay that much for it.

As for the questions that someone submitted to ASM, they did list a series of handling type mods and a change to the brakes.

ok guys I have said this b4 bit have had no time. I will make a trip there to take a look @ this truck. Will report all my findings. Not sure when I can make it but wil have a full report.
