Gen II Colors rated and scored

Just for fun this is how I rate and score the colors of the Gen II Lightning.

Sonic Blue
Classiness 3
Sportiness 4
Rarity 5
Overall 12

Red
Classiness 2
Sportiness 5
Rarity 1
Overall 8

True Blue
Classiness 5
Sportiness 3
Rarity 5
Overall 13

Dark Shadow Grey
Classiness 5
Sportiness 2
Rarity 4
Overall 11

Silver
Classiness 3
Sportiness 3
Rarity 4
Overall 10

Oxford White
Classiness 5
Sportiness 2
Rarity 3
Overall 10

Black
Classiness 3
Sportiness 3
Rarity 1
Overall 7

1st True Blue 13 points
2nd Sonic Blue 12 points
3rd Dark Shadow Grey 11 points
4th Silver & Oxford White 10 points
5th Red 8 points
6th Black 7 points

Rarity scores come from the production numbers/color up to 2003;

Black 7,739; 6,481 Red; 3,864 Oxford White; 3,636 Silver; 1,130 True Blue; 1,170 Dark Shadow Grey; 723 Sonic Blue.

I know they made Sonic Blue in 04 and True Blue was only one year so I guess True Blue would be the rarest color (couldn't find any up-to 2004 production numbers/colors)

True Blue being the winner of my little color rating system I gotta say how strange it is that it doesn't look all-that from pictures on the web but when you see one in-person...WOW.

According to your numbers they made twice as many Red and Black as Silver BUT you rated the rarity the same ?? .. WTF ??? Silver wasnt made for 3 years I think - Red, black and White were made every year

Oh chit messed the numbers up my bad...lol. Fixed now. Silver moves up to 4th now. Anyway that's how I personally rate the colors. I wasn't out to be scientific. BTW my color didn't get 1st spot.

Here's a little color triva for you....

For the first year of Lightning (93), you could only get black or red (white came out in 94), but the very FIRST gen 1 was white.

True Blue actually REPLACED white for 02, but Ford brought white back later in the production run due to popular demand.

For 2000, SVT polled the dealers to vote on adding either silver or yellow for the 00 model year. Silver beat out yellow by a vote difference in the single digits. Damn dealers!!!

Canary yellow would of been a good sporty color for the L. There's a f150 BOSS in my area that's yellow....man it just "sticks out" lol.

I have a picture of that somewhere.

I think this poll is kinda dumb. Bascially, Being a rare color is a huge advantage obviously, and when it comes to car colors, black , red, and white are on almost every color pallete...........

If they made sonic blue back in 01, i would have bought it........

however, when I walked on that lot and saw the red, there was no decision. And i'm not even a huge red fan. Black is usually my choice.
