Cool

Justin, I dont know if there is any power gain. I want to say yes but it could be from enjoying the great bark the exhaust gives the truck. I would think it gives a couple of horses because of the better flow than the one two in two out system. I had had a two in two out single flowmaster installed first but got a hissing sound when bringing the rpm up. I went back and they installed two 3 chamber flowmaster mufflers. They cut the muffler off just in front of the muffler and installed the two flowmasters angled not flat side by side. They then made two pipes with S/S tips that exit the stock location. I met H8 2 W8 to show him the sound of mine and he went with the two 2 chamber flowmasters and likes the sound of them. You can't go wrong with either. I might have some pictures of the installation at home if you sent me your e-mail I could try to send them to you. Scott scottodog@yahoo.com

Justin & Scottodog, Mike here.
Talked to Denny at Mufflex today, they sell
a cat-back system using 2 - Delta Technology
Flowmaster single inlet/outlet 3-chamber
which is not much louder than stock, or the
same thing using 2-chamber, which is super
loud. Personally, I like th e 3-chamber,
because of the interior resonance.

Thumbs up

Hey guys,

I have the 2 chamber like Scott said. I went with the 2 chamber because I like to be heard. Scott's truck sounds alot better than stock but the 2 chambers really give it an aggressive sound. I know Denny tried to talk me out of the 2 chambers, but I am glad I stayed with them.

I have a 96 Mystic Cobra with 2 chambers and for some reason they are louder than the ones on my truck.

Which ever ones you go with they sound great.

I know SpiroSVT99 has the 2 chambers also and we both feel that we lost a little low end torque, but picked up some horsepower in the high end.

Hope this helps.

Well, I might as well throw my 2 cents in again too. I tried all three, the single with two in two out, and like Scott, the sound was Ok till you stepped on it. Starting hissing and sounded like a smog choked 1975 Chevy Caprice!! The 40's, two chamber with no delta flow were too loud for me, and believe me, that's loud. Settled on two 3 chamber 50 series without delta flow. It's PLENTY loud and has more mello deep tone at lower RPM's.
As for power, the truck seemed to be a little stronger, but not much. The two chamber will cost you some midrange torque..another reason I went with the 50's.

Cool

Michael,
How much are the Mufflex 3-chamber cat-back.

And does anyone know if they will directly bolt up to the Bassani cats.

Question

Has anyone tried the Magna Flow mufflers?
If so what are the advantages and disadvantages to the straight thru chambers?

Does anyone have experience with the new Borla cat back system -Performance, sound, fit and finish. I think the system (one muffler I'm told) is about $500.00 and can be self installed.

Don't go with a one muffler system I've tried it and it doesn't sound good. I had to go back and get a two muffler flowmaster cat back system put on. Search for mufflex topics. I have posted their e-mail and phone number there. I don't have them handy right now. Talk to Denny he used my truck as a model to make a cat back bolt on system that might be available now. Im not sure of the price but I think its under 500 with two mufflers and dual S/S tips. Scott
