I just got off the phone with the SVT office concerning the 2000 Ls. The build date is scheduled for the last weekend in Jan. Also, they told me that they are having fitting problems with the tonneau cover this time. And all orders that include the tonneau cover option is being held until the problem is fixed. So if you ordered your 2000 L with the tonneau cover it sounds like it might be delayed.

 

Thats the same problem they had with the 99's and they were delayed also.

On the 99's, I was told that not only did they delay it they also deleted the option for a while. I was unable to order mine with the cover because the option was not available anymore.

I mentioned this on a earlier post. svt told me they might delete the cover 2 months ago. if they are still having problems now , you can count on getting your new lightning with no clothes on!they are not going to hold up production for covers .wouldn't it be nice to have the only year with the option bed cover. it adds collectabilty. I still dream about having a silver one with the overhead console.that is going to be a bitchin truck, svt told me the console is the same found in the lariats. i would have guessed they were going to the parts bin anyway. im making the upgrade and the mirrors.ill be driving a 2000 wanna be truck, i already have my window tinted.she will look like a 2000 coming down the road. (OOPS)mine will have a bed cover LOL LOL LOL.I am a legend only in my own mind!!

As far as the 2000's go....I am probably one of the closest members to the Oakville, Ontario plant. I will keep my eyes peeled when they start parking them in the back near the rail yard storage. Usually I can see them from the highway. If that is the case, then I will keep the digicam handy and take a few shots for those that are salivating for their 2000 Bolts!!!
