Is Englishtown Raceway Park closing????

Guys i know this is a rumor but i was told by someone that Raceway Parks owners sold to property developers.. and that this would be the last season of racing there... please someone say it aint so... if anyone knows the truth to this please say something.. i would hate to see such an establishment like that dissapear because more doctors and lawyers want to move in the area...maybe Jim Jr. of JDM would know, they always are at the track and renting time if someone could reach out to him im sure he would know...
thanks,
RIchie

One by one we lost each and every 1320 here in NY to those rumors
Went from a few to none, it's those got dam Developers I tell you.
They have the Politicians in their pockets, and if they want the land, and the owner of the land doesn’t sell, then the restrictions start, cut down schedules, the fines, the hassles, the re-zoning, eventually the owner of the land has no choice. )$%(@$^%)@$&%@)$%@)$%@$)@%$)@$&%)@$%@$

By the time the owner of Long Island MotorSports Park (the Hamptons) closed down last season, the track was only allowed to operate, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On top of that on every one of those days, the Police were there at EXACTLY 6PM to start handing out Fines. And on at least 2 of those days, you could only start racing at 2pm.

Because of those time restrictions first NHRA dropped out (many years ago), then IHRA some years later, and then they lost all the Big Boys because the events weren't there anymore @%$%@$@$@$#@
And then when the owner / owners aren't making enough money anymore, all of a sudden the Developers offer starts sounding real good.

But it seems like Eng Town is far from there yet, as long as NHRA stays, we get to see the Big Boys play there once a year (I love watch Force run the same track You and I do) and they bribe the community enough,
it aint going anywhere..........

although wasn't it just last year V and the JLO Gang all went to the town hall meeting about restrictions they wanted to put into effect ???
It'll take years to scare everyone away, but it could be the beginning ...

I hear you You Hostile MF

Yesterday "the front page" of the News Paper here in Long Island (newsday)was a pic and article on street racing and how dangerous it is, people dieing etc.... I WANTED TO JUMP THROUGH THE HEAD LINES AND SAY, HELLO *******S YOU CLOSED EVERY FKING TRACK WHAT DO YOU EXPECT #(@%@$%@$()$)(@$&%()@$&%@)$*&@$ We have tens of thousands of Motorheads and Hotrods and NO WHERE to race, what do they expect ???
The biggest and greatest City in the world, and not 1 track

I would never wish death on anyone, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. But if people have to die I can only hope and pray it's people that had something to do with the closing of all the tracks.....
MAYBE then someone will open their stuck up gold spoon eyes and say, hmm,
maybe we should give them a place to do this legal.
YOU THINK

Them to follow and obey the law.

Politicians rarely give a rats *** about racers and hotrodders. Housing complexes and shopping centers are much more profitable to the state and the governments then race tracks are. And when it comes down to it, we are the ones who lose out.

They expect you and everyone else to stop racing that's what. It's noisy and pollutes the environment, or something.

Enlightened Socialists.

they're having a hard time opening that new racetrack in Pine Barrens in the middle of freaking nowhere... you think they'd even let you consider doing something like that in the Meadowlands. Boy you must be dreamin!

I heard the new Giants stadium will be build in lot 4 of the current stadium which will then be demolished, maybe you can place a bid on that land, afterall they do have NASA SOLO II autocross at the Giants Stadium every once in awhile.

what happens is....

tracks are around for 20+ years, land gets developed around them, the
people move there who know there is a racetrack there....then..

....they collectively bitch about the noise, traffic etc to get the tracks
to regulate down to no fun, or closing altogether.

If you don't like racing, or noise, simple....don't *******ing move next to them!

YOU THINK
Nobody is going to give "US" *****. Thats the way it is. Its not like a facking library or something where we are going to learn and benifit. What the sport needs, is organization, strength in numbers, a voice, power, money, and someone with the ***** to do something about it.

If you guys want to see the future of our sport, turn to a 4 wheel club website. They are being run out of every mud hole and dirt road in this country. Is it because of the impact that a jeep has on nature? No! Its because of brainwashed bleeding heart facking communists that know nothing, and sit in their houses counting thier money, voting for town/city/state positions. Same thing with guns. When was the last time a law abiding gun enthusiast went on a shooting spree?

If you guys want to continue racing, you better start doing something about it. Go down south, every redneck (and I mean that in the most sincere way, good people) with a couple acres of land opens an 1/8th mile track. We don't need no stinkin' nhra or ihra. Just a piece of pavement, some high school bleachers, and a BBQ pit. I swear I was at a track in SC, where you had to stop racing when the train went through, cause the train tracks crossed the race track!!!!! My point is, places like jersey (central and south) western MA, Conn. (however you spell it) NH, Maine, and many other places, you can still get raw land at a reasonable price. People need to band together, buy land, make dragstrips, fight politicians, educate communities, and do what it takes.

Why don't I start? Cause I'm just another sheep, and I don't want to part with MY money! :o
