Post Lightning at the RITZ!

Sunday night I went to a company dinner party at the Ritz-Carlton in Dana Point. For anyone who may be unfamiliar, you can't get much more high class than that.

Well anyways, everyone is pretty snobbish of course, and the front driveway is filled with Limos, RRs, Mercedes, etc. The party is over and everyone's waiting for their car to be pulled up, no big deal whether it's a stretched Continental or a stretched Benz. THEN, the ground shakes and the crowd goes silent as . . . MY LIGHTNING, super shiny, growling, and just lowered, pulls up. I am not exaggerating, EVERYONE was looking at it. I could hear comments like "wow, that's the Lightning," or "that is nice!" It felt so good to get all this attention from a 30k truck! I'm sure you all know the feeling as Lightning owners we tend to get more attention with our trucks than sports cars 2 or 3Xs the price. But this was really the ultimate, I'm so proud of my baby! (Oh yeah my date was beautiful too )

Anyways I'm in the process of moving offices so I may not be on-line for a week or so, but when I get back I'll be sure to post a pic of my Lightning with the So-Cal lowering job.

Take care everybody and happy holidays,
Mike

Our company Xmas party is this Wednesday (pizza at the office). I know my L will make quite an impression there too.

:-P

n20boy,

I went to So-Cal Speed shop in Pomona, you can check out the company info at www.so-calspeedshop.com and click on the suspension link or you can call Jim Sleeper at (909)469-6171 and tell him Mike referred you. The kit by itself is about $700.

Thanks Brimstone!
Hey i notice you are using the jba headers. How are they working for you? I spoke to Jba yesterday for dyno results and they said 17hp peak. I asked at what rpm did they lose hp if any and he said at one point they did lose a little bit from 303 to 295. My question is I have never seen that much of a gain by headers alone... can you or anyone elso comment please. I can purchase the bassani kit for a good price but just doing a little research before hand. I spoke to rick at bassani the other day about results with their system but since they have had a hard time keeping a truck around long enough for some serious testing he said at one point they saw 26 hp. They dont have any hard print for the lightning but will be doing that testing soon. This 26 was with the complete system. They now offer a true dual exhaust for the lightning.
thanks again.

n20boy,

The JBAs are great, combined with the flowmaster exhaust I can feel more pull with the truck but I wish I had done a dyno before and after so I would know the real difference. All I can say for sure is that the sound combo is totally awesome. The Bassani kit sounds like it would give you better performance gain, at least from their reputation, but I don't know. I think the headers may be longer too.

I notice you are in Corona, I just moved my office to Corona, right off the 15 at Magnolia and sixth street. We should meet up sometime, maybe for lunch or something.

Later,
Mike

Brimstone, I noticed that you live in
the Irvine area. Im only down in san
Clemente. Have a 99.5 white L. I
would like to see your lowered L
sometime and also would like to hear
your engine. I had the death rattle.
Ford replaced it with a new motor.
Now the new one sounds worse than the
first. Before I take it back again id
like to hear another. Does yours
rattle like a deisel when its warming
up? Ive been on this board before
butjust changed my username

Whitelight,

E-mail me privately at T1D2C3@aol.com, my engine does rattle for maybe 2 seconds on cold start ups.

n20boy,

I'm not gonna be working in Corona much until 2000 so I'll give you a call in a couple of weeks. If you're gonna be in OC at all and have time give me a call. E-mail me privately at the address above and I'll give my #.
