Can anyone help? IAT question.

Can anyone tell me where to get an IAT fitting for a 02-04 Lightning. This is the fitting for the downstream IAT on the intake manifold. I have a 00' F-150 w/ an Allen supercharger. I need to drill and tap this such fitting into my intake but AI can't seem to locate one. My local Ford dealer says the fitting comes w/ the intake(just a bit pricey for a fitting, plus, I don't need the intake...).
I have the IAT, just need the fitting so I can get the actual IAT after the air is compressed by the S.C. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is the sensor pipe thread or straight?? You might not need a bung for the sensor if you can tap a hole straight into your intake.
Just an idea.

if you have the actual IAT2 temp sensor you shouldn't need a fitting to insert it into the manifold. the IAT2 sensors on ours have a brass base that screws into the lower intake manifold on the number 2 intake runner. I would think that you could have the intake manifold drilled and then put a time-sert in it. this wound be easy as you will have to get the tool and the correct sert size to the sensors threads. It might be cheaper to have a machine shop machine the hole.

I think you'll be fine just drilling your intake as long as you properly drill the pilot size, tap the drilled hole, and use some loctite.

Most intake aluminum castings will have a wall thickness of 4mm. Yeah that's too thin but this joint won't see extreme pressures. The proper fit and loctite will work.

Thanks all for the replies....but, I'm still a little stumped on this. The sensors I got from my local dealer are just the sensors. One looks like it would go into the fitting and turn to lock in place. The other looks just like the one that pushes into the intake tube. (Sorry, I know pics would help. But my cameras not cooperating.) Both sensors are just plastic/composite w/ no threads or brass fitting.

What you were given is a twist in Lightning IAT1 sensor, and passenger car snap in IAT sensor. You were not given the Lightning IAT2 sensor. The IAT2 sensor has a brass pipe threaded base, which simply screws into the tapped Lightning lower intake.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Sal and Raider. That sensor will work with my 2000 F-150 right? Or do I need a different connector/pigtail. Thanks again, this eases a big headache.
