Post Calling Bill M

The exhaust system (cats, mufller, tips),will be easy. But the headers will take sometime to install. Looked at mine again. Belive if I drop the rest of the exhaust. The header may come out with loosing motor mounts. I may be wrong. But its all coming off anyway. Did your gaskets come ? Did you find the directions? Would like to get a copy to read. So I can study and look at mine to have steps down pat. The truckin copy you gave me, looks like the innerfenders was removed. Posibly so photos could be takin, or may have to come off. The chip and filter will be easy. I will look at mine to see how pcm is removed. Once we agree to time, and date will you go ahead and get the chip+filter setup for delivery once done?

PS Karen liked hobby shop, thanks for dis. My son will be so happy on xmas day. I still would like to get the power sweeper and posibly consruction world. How much was they (can not remember price)?

Hi Bill Mallo
You're right on the headers. You will need to undo the engine mount to install the headers. On the EEC (or PCM as you call it) the best and easiest way to do it is to pull the battery and then disconnect the harness from the EEC. Pull the EEC from the inside and do a real good job of cleaning the the 30 pin connector(15 both sides).

Just a little advice from a fellow Lightning owner. My friend tells me that if you disconnet the battery, your computer will lose its memory. This will result in 50-100 miles of driving before the computer learns the paticularities of your truck i.e. adjusting for dirty air filters, altitude, oil visocity, even your driving style.

To avoid that, so you computer does not lose its memory, you can fabricate a connector to plug a small 9 volt battery into your cigarette lighter or power point; WHICHEVER recieves power when the ignition is OFF. What this does is keep the computer with enough juice to retain its memory.

1. Make sure your ignition is OFF.

2. Plug in the Tundra Memory Keeper, TM, into your cigarette lighter, or power point .

3. Then remove your battery cable, negative first.

When you are done just hook your battery back up and remove the T.M.K.

Morning Guys:

1. I already have the PsP chip and intake system sitting in the office. Am only waiting for the special gaskets.

2. We put the superchip in twice without removing or disconnecting the battery. I can show you how. We also modified the bracket per instructions I got off this board, it fell out once.

3. The Instructions I will try to get tonight, we have just been too busy and by the time I get home I am done. Sun. is a shorter day, so I can probably get into the boxes tonight.

4. I regret we are out of stock on the Power Sweeper and Construction World. We have another shipment somewhere in UPS World, but cannot guarantee delivery before Christmas. I will save you one of each on arrival. The Sweeper is $59 I think and I don't remember the price on the other module. I will e-mail you from the store.

5. As to the headers, I have read here and in the magazine that you have to raise the left (from driver seat) side of the motor to get that one on and you do have to remove the inner fender liners. Plan on a long day on the lift!!!!!!

Merry Christmas

Bill
