Question "Rules to a road race" ???

I haven't been able to jump on my computer for a couple of days but on Saturday I had an eventful day...Or maybe not.
On my way to work I notice an exotic waiting to merge on a local 4-lane road. I slowed up waiting just to see what it was. When he caught up to me(rather quickly) I saw it was a Ferrari.Cool. The guy notices me eyeing up his wheels and gives a little nod and takes off like 2 car lengths and then slows down.Cool.Well we're side by side at the next light and I'm still gawking,he looks at me like "wtf are looking at"? At that point I figure what the hell! I point and nod he looks at my truck (gives me the wtf look again)laughs and nods back.He jumped but chirped BIG time,I had a clean launch(thanx to the posts guys!) and I was a little less than a car length ahead at the next light! I figure it's a win.He puts down his window and starts w/ "I didn't think you were serious",I say lets go again.Again BIG chirp on his part(my launch was not as good due to the fact I was alittle giddy from the first run) but I'm right w/ him.He seemed to be fighting his gear box the whole way and at the next light I was about a car length ahead! Now I have to hear he "didn't(doesn't!) know what I was driving","his car is new","he had a bad start".That's all well and good(probably true!) but does any of this matter? I tell him one more x, this time I didn't even bother,I dropped right in behind him and kept at the speed limit(45) and at the next light got a good look at my oppenent... Ferrari F355. My questions are these,do I have to make the world aware of our trucks capabilities,do I have to teach rich jerks how to drive, and is this a "good kill"?
I know his car will do 0-60 in like 4.8/4.9 w/ a quality driver, but in my mind a kill is a kill.Am I wrong here?
Later that day Thor's hammer got dropped on a new Vette and the guy thought so much of the loss he followed me off my exit ramp just to let me know it was a "good run".Now that's sportsmanship.
Brett
P.S. The guy in th 355 is lucky I wasn't running my Sy. It would have been ugly.

A legal win, 3 times!

It makes no difference what you drive, if you can drive it to it's capabilities, then you have a chance at a win.

I have stomped many a Porsche in my TBird, because I could drive my car, and he couldn't drive his. The car should have been able to smoke my noise turkey by itself, but was limited by it's human component.

No matter how you slice it, a win is a win. Just don't get ****y, as the next one may hand you your butt on a plate!

"No matter how you slice it, a win is a win"? Is this the same group of guys who slammed me when I kidded one of our own for flashing his lights at an opponnent so they could line back up and try again.......I stick by my original position, on the street, there are very few rules to racing. If you don't like that, make all your passes at the strip. It's been that way ever since I was a kid, and believe me that was before any of us could even spell fuel injection, let alone know what the hell it was.........Good kill by the way........

Hey, Metallic Blue,
Watch the Yuppie Scum remakers, some might think we are Yuppies our selves. Most of us are older guys and some are younger professionals that drive these new factory Ford hotrods. Theses days you cant really tell, but one thing is for sure, we are all men and women that love to FEEL THE POWER!!!! Isn't that why we drive these BAD BOY TOYS!!!

dude VERY NICE kill!!! Damn a F355, ya those things have like a million horse power (Well I think in the 400's somewhere) you did get lucky that he couldnt drive it. Goes to show that we can even beat a ferrari that has more horse-power, well it has more everything. Man wish I could remember all the stats about it (well the one's published in car rag's). Anywho, hey Mswain, if a guy wanted to race me to see how the Lightning really compared to his vehicle, I would race (or restart) if he had a bad launch, we would be testing vehicles @ that point, trying to take the "driver error" out of the equation helps compare just the vehicles. I think that is what they werre trying to do. Ya out on the street I HOPE the guy I am racing spins his wheels & I get a good jump start. But If I am talking to someone & want to see what is vehicle I hope he doesnt spin so its really machine-against-machine.

Cool

HI!... All : The way I look at street racing or drag racing (at the track) is I don't care what car or truck you are driving, what mods are done to it, or who is driving. What matters is who gets to the finish line first. Just my 2 cents. NEAL 8-)

In the recent issue of Car and Driver the Ferrari Modena (??) was posted as having a 1/4 mile time of around 13.9 seconds. I was very surprised. Aren't they faster than that?

Also there's a cool article on the new s/c Jaguar, comparing it with respect to the Lightning.

Exclamation

Hmmmm...just went over to the Ford website and built a "Sport" F150 with a 5.4 option. Which "fact" were you refering to BADASS? BADASS awakens suddenly realizing he's not in Kansas anymore and that he had only dreamed of 4.6 Sports.
