PATS problem maybe?

6 months ago i removed my built motor for worn wrist pins, had the motor redone about ready to install it in a few weeks. Problem is I noticed the ignition key in the ignition and turned to the on position. I remember somewhere if you leave the key in and disconnect the battery and reconnect it will activate the pats and not allow it to start. I don't remember for sure if it was in the ignition, when i took it apart or I put it in later. Question is does it set the pats off when the key is left in and diconnected or does it set the PATS if the key is in and the battery is connected.

The Ford service manual has 5 or 6 warnings about differant safty precautions when disconecting and reconecting battery, no where does it mention removing the key from the ignition. The pats system is in the cluster and must be programed when cluster is changed, I would think that if removing the cable with the key in was a problem ther would be a big warning somewhere. Hope it works for you, I can't believe that you will have a problem.
