Question Intercooler plumbing?

Could someone that has a Lightning explain the workings of the intercooler setup on the engine. Does it have an external pump? Is it a completely seperate system from the engine cooling? I have heard talk of a resevour also.

Hey KSMike
Yes, the intercooler setup is a totally closed system (except when they are leaking )
There is a separate intercooler fluid reservoir and pump which will operate anytime the key is on and the temp is above 40F or so.
The intercooler coolant from the factory is ethylene glycol/water mix just like the engine coolant, but the two systems are totally separate.
Hope I could help...

Thanks alot for the help, Sixpipes and Brad. Is there a seperate radiator also? It seems like an additional heat exchanger filled with ice could be put inline also to get a temporary colder charge. Or do you think that this would be a wasted effort?
