Installed the chip toady , WOW that thing is GRRRRRREAT! I only have 1 problem (i think) when I am driving noramly, just after it swithces gears, and you put just a little pressure on the peddle, there is definalty a knock. Like if the engine lugs there is a ping. I know this is bad for the engine, I also noticed that you mentioned to avoid oxygnated fuels, well down here in the valley of the sun ALL the gas is oxygnated (at least during half the year, not sure if that is now or in the summer months though)! Will this make a difference? There is no knocking at all @ WOT so im not worried about blowing it up (at least I think not). Can I get some feed back on this. THX Don

Hey Don, Sal here. Let me see if I understand what you mean. By knock, I assume you mean spark knock, as in detonation. And you are saying that you do not get this at WOT, but you get it if you are cruising and then give it some throttle. Is this correct? If so, that's not a problem. There is a table called "Tip-in Spark" which adds or subtracts timing on throttle tip in. I can pull a few degrees of timing during this condition. It will not effect the performance of the chip at all. Just confirm that I understand you correctly and I will send you out a revised EPROM; you will not have to send the chip back to me.

Ya, it is only just after it switches gears ex: from 2 to 3, or from 3-4 etc. And then it is only if you try to give it some gas, not if you just continue at your current throttle position. Ya it is detonation, but I would think that this would happen as WOT, but it doesnt. WIERD. Let me try it out a little more b4 you send a new chip a few days (if you think I should change it soon then go ahead & send another one). THX for quick response, it really is a great kick though!
