Post Type of alarms

What type of alarms do ya'll have on your trucks. The dealer said when I bought my truck that I could only put a dealer installed alarm on it. They said that the electrical system was sealed and that anyone other than the dealer doing the work would void the warranty. What's up with this.

Cool

Well, if that's your dealers attitude, then find another dealer. If the alarm installation or alarm itself caused a vehicles part to fail, it shouldn't be covered under warranty. I install the Ford alarms. Very nice units. They have a system that will work with your factory keyless entry remotes and also one that has it's own remotes if you don't have keyless entry. The alarms are made by Code-Alarm. All relays are internal in the module unlike a lot of other alarms, which means less wiring under your dash. They have an infrared shock sensor. If you have one installed, make sure you specify that you want the Ford alarm, or they could put in another brand for the same price. The Ford alarm will be covered under your 3year 36,000 mile warranty also!!!!If anything breaks or fails to work, it is repaired under warranty at no expense to you. I have the System4 in my truck which works with the factory keyless.

Thanks Sycoholic, probably will go with the Ford alarm. From what you said it sounds like a very good one.
