Flip Chip, NOS, Cat-Back= 8lb boost & 633hp

I guess all the built motor guys must be doing something wrong!!! The Nov. issue of Sport Truck has an 01 Lightning in it with: Superchip Flip Chip, Bassani Cat-Back system, & NOS dry kit.According to the article "The Supercharger was soon cranking out 8 pounds of boost. After a trip to the dyno, the Ford was hitting an impressive 633hp." Engine, air intake and supercharger look bone stock in the pictures. Fact or Fantasy- you be the judge!!!

Thats absolutely possible.

Anyone that has run a stock motor with power adders such as Nitorus or blowers for any extended period of time will tell you that it doesnt run like that for long.

Ill get 1000 HP out of ANY car for at least a couple dyno runs /

8lbs of boost is the stock boost level and goin with a dry kit is asking for trouble in my book.

A Dry Nitrous System and a Stock Block L

=

#'s ARE Very possible though
Mine put down over 500/600 on the stock block with a 4lb lower and a 75 shot of the Race Tested. Later I moved up to 100HP but never re-dyno'd
So if they were running a 150 -200 shot for instance, those numbers are very do-able

NOT LAST-ABLE but yes do-able

I thought this was the case also Rob but there is a good future for dry nitrous kits once a good one is actually built. The goal is to replicate what your factory fuel injection system can do very reliably with electronics and not a inconsistant pressure signal.

There's always a way to do something right, the problem is so many do it wrong as profit gets in the way of quality.

I saw a truck with 10 psi and a 150 shotmake about 610 during a dyno session. The truck had been running nitrous for about 3 years prior but only a 75 shot. It has longtubes, 2lb lower, air kit, throttle body, Phenolic spacer and a superchip flip chip with a 3 year old JDM tune. The only damage the truck incurred was a slighty blown head gasket. This was just before the 610 dyno pull. Its possible but in my opinion you'd be asking for alot of trouble. With a new SCT tune and 75 shot the truck made 530 and runs hi 11's in the heat and elevation, what more can you ask for on the stock internals.
