Engine Problems help please

Ok, im having some serious engine issues right now. The truck is bogging hard like its running only on a few cyclinders or something. Under acceleration it's not doing very well. I dont think i spit a plug cause im not hearing any poping sounds. The check engine light was coming on while i was crusing back home on the freeway but only when i gave it gas. What do u guys think? Bad Injector, Coil Plug, or spark plug? or maybe something else? If i take this to the dealer, do u think im gonna get my *** ripped off? Thanks guys. Oh afterwards there was a funky smell from the exhaust and the truck shakes quite bad at idle.

Time for new spark plugs, sounds like you cooked a few
Of course check the obvious first like a vac line that blew off or something,
but if it's rough on idle and running crappy my moneys on the plugs....

Good Luck

The EXACT thing happened to my truck truck after a high speed run down the freeway. I changed the plugs and had the same problem. It turned out to be a fried intake valve.

Funny you should ask that. I just took mine to a dealer in Houston to ask them how much to put the TR6's in my HD before I ship it back to England.

They quoted 4 hours at $80 per hour

Rob can probably do the whole lot in 30 mins but you'd have to get it over to NY

Get you some TR6's that way you are ready for any added boost in the future. They are one heat range cooler and will work fine with stock boost levels and cost the same.

A dealer in Houston quoted me $267 for a plug change. I went to sears and bought a socket and a long extension and did it my self.

Its not that bad and only takes two dif tools. You need

A 3/8 rachet with a 5/8 plug socket. a swivel and about 24 inches of extension a roll of duct tape, a 7mm wrench and a 1/4 drive 7mm socket and rachet with about 12 inch of etension. This works for me and ive changed the plugs in my L about 10 times now and i have it down to 45 min
