Neal,Did you ever find a speedo fix? The local ford nut here said he can do it.Something like, hold the reset button while you turn key to run release reset button.A cal. code should show in the odometer.Turn key off.locate& ground PSOM program wire. Enter new cal.constant. Does this sound like anything you have done? Yes my 4:10s are in,yes my speedo is 10mph off at 60mph.The 4:10s should be standard on the Lightning,AWSOME IMPROVEMENT!!!!!

Did the 4.10's take off a lot of sluggishness, cause i was thinking of changing the camshaft to up the rpm's, but which would you suggest, or anyone suggest, but i do not want to get into a lot of work, i wanna drive it as much as possible.

 

The L pulls way hard,from bottom to redline! As I said the L's should come with the 4:10's. My truck is stock except for the TransGo shift kit.From a 35mph stab of the go pedal,the tires are up in smoke! It didnt do that before the 4:10's Hope to put the Bassani kit on this next weekend.

HI!... JIGAWATT : No my dealer has tried everything that they and SVO/SVT can think of and nothing has worked yet. I tried your proceedure just now and it looks like "BEEB" shows up in the digital odometer slot. When I tried it a 2nd time the word "GAGE" appeared and all my guages including my speedo and tach did a needle sweep for a second then stopped. WEIRD! Mabey you can explain it in more detail to me.

Steve, I did the gear swap.If you have not done any diff. work,take it to a shop that has the special ring&pinion tools. Neal, the info I had only works on the early models(90-96).Sal has looked up the way to do it with the next generation star tester(ford scan tool)Thanks again Sal!He always comes up with the good stuff.IM going to the dealer with Sal's info and hope they have someone that know's his head from his @ss! As I have talked with service writers at my ford dealer,the best they can say is DUHHHH speedo whats that?

HI!... NATHAN : I don't own a LIGHTNING but I had 4.10 gears installed in my F-150 (5.4). The gas milage has stay about the same for me. Top speed on my truck is 134mph. Not bad for a non LIGHTNING EH!!!!. I also dropped my 60 foot # by 1.5 seconds. (6.4 SECONDS)

HI!... Just got off the phone with MIKE T. He looked into it for me and found out from a SUPERCHIPS tech that my BOJ4 computer code has a 90% chance of being programed to fix my speedometer. I'll most likely send my chip back in to SUPERCHIPS during the winter. I hope it works because I have just about tried everything that I, SVT, SVO and FORDS can think of.

Hey,Nathan. I live in the NorthWest and I don't get much driving in,now that it's a winter wonderland up here. So I don't know on the gas mileage. As far as top speed,the speedo is off? When I was testing it pegged 145, with rpm to spare(alot of mph left in her to go). As soon as I get the speedo correct I will let you know,if weather let's me
