Superchip problems resolved !!!!!!!
Hey guys,
I just wanted to follow up on a post I had a few weeks ago about my superchip.
I spoke with Mike Troyer, the superchip distributor I purchased it from, and he suggested that I send the computer and the chip back together for superchips to look at them both.
I sent them back overnight Monday and spoke to Jay at superchips on Tuesday. Jay said that the connection port was too thin to make full contact. They built up the board, installed the chip and overnighted it back to me.
I received them today and let me tell you, this chip kicks ***!!!! I never had this type of performance from all the programs I had. I was doing 20 mph and floored it and started spinning and fishtailing all over the place. Superchips stands behind there products and Mike knows his *****. If you need a christmas present this chip should be on the top of your list!!
Anyway thanks for all the help and Mike is even getting ALL of my shipping costs refunded to me. I suggest if you have any problems or concerns about the chips performance to contact Mike @ (540) 862-9515 and he can resolve the problems.
Happy Holidays!!

Rob,
I too had the same great service some time ago from Mike and SuperChips as a non-Lightning owner.
I assume your "signature" 1/4 mile time is before your SuperChip?

Hey Dunbarton,
I had the superchip in, but it sure as hell wasn't the set up I have now. I know I will be in the low 13's now. I can't wait to take it to the strip again in 2000.
This weekend I am going to paint the calipers (red), put a good coat of wax, change the oil and then cover it in the garage until April. I had heating ducts ran out into the garage just for this BEAST!! I live in Bel Air, Maryland and once the snow or ice hits, there is gravel and salt EVERYWHERE.
I bought it in June and I still have only 1900 miles on it. I am sure after I break it in some more it will get quicker.
Good luck and I am glad you had the same great service I did.
Happy Holidays,
ROB

ROB, you sound like me!! What a hoot, I had to replace my furnace last week, so I had them run some extra ducts out to the garage to keep the beast and other toys cozy. I have a little heater I normaly use, but this should be extra nice.
I picked my L up in June too, but have 4300 miles on it now. Still low, but not as low as yours. I live in Dallas, but spent the summer working in Fairfax, VA up near you. Fortunately, we don't have anything but cold here, very little ice, virtually no snow and salt. Glad you like your chip, I love mine, what difference! Have a great holiday.

Hi Rob,
Thanks very much for your kind post. I'm glad you're up and running! Basically, this was the problem the whole time, not getting a good connection, due to the thin edge connector your computer had. So now *finally*, you can get all the benefits that everyone else running the Superchip has been getting, and it's about time!
Have fun Rob, and do let us know what that thing runs when you get it to the strip next time. With the Flip Chip, it's easy to do back-to-back runs for comparison. We suggest using a format of 3 runs, the first stock, the second with the performance program, and then a thrid running the stock program again, with a 30 minute cool-down time in between each run for best consistency.
Good luck with your truck,
