Should have it painted and installed soon.

I like this one the best of all the ones you've done. Are there any issues with the depth of the gages? Did you have to trim any plastic above the radio for the gages to fit?

No and very little of the dash needed modification.

If your gonna make your own, stock up on some Plastic Weld. It gives the piece alot of strength that bondo can't.

My next 2 projects will be very large and one will involve more polishing than I want to think about.

I wish more people would just try new things...

282lightning,

It really is not as hard as it looks. After seeing what Tampa has done i came up with my first project. keep in mind I have never done anything like this. It takes some time to decide what products to use and where to get them and such. I have been reading a lot on MP3Car . They have a fabrication section that has tons of info and how-to's. My first project is an 8" lcd touch screen in my dash. Ive got the lcd case mounted and the project is almost done. Its really coming out well and I jumped into this thing not knowing anything. The plastic weld stuff is awesome, very strong, and not to bad to sand if needed. I would post some pics but dont want to jack Tampas thread more than I already have. Just be ready to sand, sand, and more sand. Here is a link to my project.

Lcd In Dash I still have some more filling and sanding work to due around the buttons and misc areas, but almost there. I also smoothed out the ridges on the bottom left and right.

I got the radio bezel for $20, and the lcd case for 15 free shipping. Cheap and if it does not work you dont have to spend a fortune. This also allows you to keep your stock parts in the truck while working.

Jack away, I don't mind.

I filled the vent lines on the base of my previous surround, just to let you know when you go to reinstall the vents they will look out of place. The lines help tie the parts together, without them it just looks strange. Nice work!
