Question Lightning problems

My 99 is in the shop for a new engine, it developed a knock the day before Thanksgiving. The dealer is not going to tear it down, they listened and ordered it. They said they will send it back to Ford. Any guesses what a "new engine" is, long block or blower to pan? I wonder if the rpm surge on startup has anything to do with it?
I also lost most of the silver paint off the spokes on my right rear wheel at 1500 miles. The replacement seems ok. (the truck has 7000 miles on it) Also had a clunk in the front end near full turn, they said it was bushings??? Also a clunk/bang on cold start on the a/c compressor, they said it has a bulletin out on it and told me there are some directions on what to do to prevent it from happening. I also get a slight sensation of being on a bumpy road (slow speeds)when I'm not, once in a while. I also get a slight surge/buck under full throtle ,post shift once in a while. I'm disapointed with the problems, but its a mass produced machine. Any input would be helpfull because my truck is the only one they have had in for repairs so far. One good thing is they called today (12/01) and said the engine would be in Mon.(12/06)We will see if that is true or not, it took 5 weeks to get the wheel.

Question

Sorry to hear your problems. Just wondering when truck was made? Did not see you in the build date/number. I belive most of your problems was happenong on early builds. Let us know. If problem is posibly on more than just early build numbers.

My truck is#1153. It was delivered 5/31/99. I've scaned thru all the pages of this board (last 30 days so far) and I see Sal had to replace his engine at 2000 miles. The knock I had sounded more like a rod than a piston.( I have owned a 69 Boss 302 since 77 they ate pistons also) I also have moisture in both tail lights. I also have moisture in one tail light in our 98 GT. Sounds like bad design or bad vendor.
