Talking A Little Superchip Story.

This is just a little superchip story. It did not happen to my Lightning but it did happen with my modified Ranger on the way home from work tonight. I left work after 5:00 tonight with the intent to go watch my Daughter practice for her part in America's Thanksgiving Day Parade tomorrow. Driving down Oakwood Blvd. the truck is struck with instant Death (I have seen this before, I know what it is). While the truck is still coasting I whip around a corner and park in a no parking zone in front of a funeral home. Since I know the owner (his dad too, we are antique car collector's and go back a ways)I go in and ask to speak to him to see if I could use the phone (gave my cell phone to my Daugther to use) and maybe to borrow a wrench or two. I call my wife and then as insurance I call AAA and ask for road service but first I ask the gal not to laugh when I tell her that my truck just died and that I am calling from the funeral home. Needless to say she laughs and so do the other people in the office when she tells them. I get the wrenchs, remove the EEC from under the hood and peel the tape from the Superchip and pull it out. I reinstall the EEC sans Superchip and just like Lazarus my Ranger rises from the dead. Now I am driving home and I miss the power of my Superchip and the firm shifts. Oh well just one more thing to fix.I hope that you may find a little humor in my story and nothing more. Thanks. I added a photo of my little toy too.

PS. A Happy Thanksgiving Day to everyone.

BABOLT - Excellent story!

What's up with the chip? Did it shake itself loose? I sure wish Superchips would come up with a better means of keeping the chip in other than duct tape!! That is pretty tacky (in more ways than one)!

BaBolt,

Good looking Ranger and great photo! Really dramatic setting. You've got a good eye.

Dear BABolt,

Sorry to hear you had a problem, and what a story! Calling from the funeral home to report your truck is dead?!? They must have been rolling in the floor laughing!

*Great* photo, by the way.
