It's on the bed on the right front top corner, where there appears to be a seam welded there. Appears the factory did not put enough paint on the welded area, and rust is starting to form there.

This is one of those problems that concerns me in that rust likes to keep coming back. I guess quality control at Ford is not what they would have you believe.

 

I have a 2003, and it appears that I have some surface rust on part of the tailgate . When the tailgate is closed, the rust areas are on the inside bottom "lip". It isn't noticeable to anyone else, but it really torks me that in only 32 months, something like this could happen. It must me the salt air coming off the gulf of mexico

 

My 03 had two spots that looked like pits in the paint. The dealer took care of them and said it was from being sent on the railroad, and a few sparks must have burnt through the paint. I have never heard of this but I wasn't impressed to say the least.
