IMO, there is plenty of room, unless you want to haul around 4 people or so. I also came from an extended cab F-150, and looked at harley trucks for the longest time, before I got an L. I never considered an L, until I sat in one. Then I realized I had enough room, and since that day I was hooked. BTW, I am over 6' and about 270. I have never drove mine in the snow, but you should be able to haul you snow board.

If all else fails buy a set of regular f150 wheels that should help and put it in the same class as a 2wd f150 except you have alot more power to help spin

Thanks for all the help guys, I think im starting to lean away from the lightning, the gas milage is not whats scaring me off, I like driving in the snow and if the lightning is really that bad its really not gonna work for me. Im gonna test drive one anyways just to see if I really like it, and im also going to test drive an F150 Lariat 4 door. That seems like a bit more practical car for my situation. Another thing is, I have this thing with everything, i dont know if its ocd or what, but like if something happens to my stuff, like dents and kniks and things, I flip out. If I had something like the lightning for example, witch is supposted to be a "hot rod" than I wouldn't want it touched, but if I had a Lariat witch is in my book, used for "working", so I wont mind little things hear and there.

Were also going to be building trails next summer at my friends house possibly, so I need to be able to drive through the trails that are there and pull tree's out for him.

And I can get a brand new lariat for a little more than the price of the lightning at the dealership close to me.

So Im still not completely made up my mind, but I think im almost there. The harley is still an option, I think its in the middle, 4 door, roomy inside, and than its got the fast engine and the ****ty rear wheel drive in the snow.

I really dont know.

Thanks again for your help
Sean

Edit - The other reason that would support me getting the lariat is that I am planning on becoming a contractor or construction worker. Something in that line of buisness. So it cant hurt to have a truck that I could use for work right now. So I dont know. Thank again though.

Get the Lightning and some cheap used 80's 4x4 winter beater, lol. Don't want the salt on the L anyway.

I would do what you said, get a cheap "beater" car, but consdering im only 16 (i'll be 17 in febuary) and working a part time job and drug world, 6.50 an hour. I wont have the money to pay for gas for both cars, isurance, and pay for the car all at the same time. So im gonna find something that'll work for me. If all else fails though, I go for the lightning. And I'll get a ride during the winter or wait for plows, witch I hate but whatever. I'd rather have a hummer and drive through the snow like its a dirt road lol.

I dont know, I think when it comes down to it, I'd rather go off roading than go fast. And obviously the lightning isn't good for off roading at all. A lifted F150 would be though, or an H1....lol anyways, so thats my story.

Thanks,
Sean

lol, there's something about all dodge's that I just cant stand, its the same thing with chevys, maybe its the front end or something, but I cant stand them. Well dodge's charger is pretty nice looking actually, and the viper is well, yeah you know, a viper, but besides those car I dont like dodge's. I know that was a joke though...

Anyways, I think im going to head over to the local ford dealership today and check out an F150 Lariat, they dont have the lightning at that dealer, its 5 miles away and im not in the mood to ride a bike 5 miles today. 2 miles is diffrent I guess. But yeah, i'll just check the inside of the car out, those kind of things, and than if my mom has time to drive me next week I'll go check out the lightning, and I'll see witch would be better for me.

And maybe just for fun I'll check out an SRT-10 4 Door, do they make it in automatic or manuel, becuase I dont do manuel. (Like that?)

Yeah so guys, today, I went to check out the lightning, I started it up in the lot, and holy **** I knew it was what I was getting. It was the nicest thing i've ever heard, the only thing that ever came close to the sound that I've heard was my aunts mustang. And the guy offerd us an amazing deal, so I think in a month I should get it.

Im dissapointed, my mom ussually drives fast, and the guy who went with us told my mom to just stomp on the pedal, the guy was also about 70 or 80 years old lol. He gave me good advice for the snow, he said snow tires and some sand bags in the bed of it, and it'll help get it along a little better. I just cant go venturing out into the midst of a snow storm.

Anyways, hopefully one month though, there was need to even test drive the Lariat, theres no way it would compare, (like you all said lol)

Thanks again for the help,
Sean

As said before, it puts a smile on my face and makes me happy inside whenever I'm behind the wheel, and that's all that counts. Mind you, it's not all that life has to offer, but just driving and listning to that exhaust note and knowing how much power you have lurking under the hood just waiting for your comand, is one of the few happy moments one can experience in this messed up world and it's worth it.

I love my L.

Bert.
