I am interested, but I have heard that this might mess up my engine. Is that true? I just picked up my 99Lightning last Wednesday, I have done no modifications to it yet. Any idea anyone how much this will improve the performance and is it harmful to my truck. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Hey guys, Sal here. it generally not a good idea to mix nitrous and blowers, due to the extremely high cylinder pressures created by mixing the two, but as long as you keep the amount of nitrous relatively low, it can be obviuosly done. The common kit is an 80hp shot. I definately wouldn't go higher than that. This may not seem like a lot of nitrous, but on the 99 Lightning, you get an extra benefit from it because it cools the air charge. This means more power, not only from the nitrous molecules, but from the overall air charge temperature being cooled, creating more power. Since many people are running it already on 99s with no problems, I would say that the short term use is safe. Long term use of it is a guess at this point since the trucks are new. I definately wouln't run the NOS with a chip, unless it's calibrated for it, otherwise there will be way too much timing and the truck will most likely detonate. (I have done quite a few dual program 99 chips that have one program set up for nitrous use with great results). So yes, you can run nitrous on a 99 Lightning, just be smart about it
