TNT "Trucks" and chat
Did anyone see the TNT show "Trucks" this weekend? They spotlighted the 99 Lightning for the last part of the show - gave pretty conservative figures but it was pretty much all praise. Went into some detail on how it's different from the F-150, besides the blower. They used a white one, it looked really nice, should've used black though 
Pretty cool how they pointed out the braking distance is only 10ft. more than the Cobra's.
Also I went to a Chevy dealership with my boss today to look for a daily driver for myself. We had decided on a Ford Mustang (V6) but thought we'd check just in case. Didn't see anything I liked. But I was looking at the Xtreme and struck a conversation with the salesman. Asked him if he knew about the Ford Lightning, he says, "yeah, Ford's got this 300 HP truck out, but it's not a real sports car." Then he points to the Camaro, and says, for that kind of money, you could get one of these and whoop a Ford's ***. I laughed, thinking about the recent post on the very subject, and said bye bye.

Besides the 300 HP (actually he made a comparison of 300HP vs. the Camaro's 310HP) I just thought it funny how he said the Camaro could whoop it's ***, judging from the times I read on the Camaro list they come pretty close to each other. I mean one of the pleasures of owning a Lightning, as far as I'm concerned, is being the underdog that makes a "real sports car" driver wonder "WHAT THE *#@! WAS THAT?"
Well, maybe the Lightning will be something the hardcore sports car enthusiasts will never accept. Just like on the Camaro list, a lot of people were commenting on how the s/c engine should have been used on the Mustang instead. I'm sure glad they put it on a truck though.
**I just wanted to add a situation where a Corvette was tailgating me, and so I hit the gas and zooooomed ahead spinning the tires and all. As soon as he caught up to me, I swear, his head was sticking out the window he could not take his eyes off the truck. Man that felt good!
