Thumbs up It's Good To Be #1

I just noticed that of all the F-150 Online Message Board forums, our Lightning forum is currently Number One in Topics with 563 and Number Two in Posts with 4,265! Guess this is just a testament to the passion and enthusiasm that our relatively small group brings to the larger F-150 community.

The top forums are as follows:

Forum - Topics - Posts

Lightning - 563 - 4,265
Engines - 419 - 4,260
General Discussion - 304 - 4,977
Computer Chips - 269 - 3,480

I too have been following this with great interest. Our total numbers are so small compared to the F-150 public in general that it makes me proud to own a Bolt in spite of it's teething problems.
Now, if we could just get Raoul to post on our thread, we would totally wipe out the competition. He is running for President on the General thread and getting lot's of posts.

I propose we make him as well as Andthensome too, Tina and a couple of other General thread posters honorary Bolt owners and really be King of the Hill.

Bill

I mentioned something similar to this a few days ago that brought a heated argument. No, I don't own a lightning. But I like to hear about experiences-good and bad-that you guys have. What I said was that alot of what is talked about in this forum is the same as other forums with one exception: It's all about lightnings here. And yes that's why it's the lightning forum. But, that is why the postings and topics appear so high in number. In the "regular truck" section, there is a forum for Engines, Computer chips, Exhaust, etc.So our posts and so forth are divided among @20 areas. In this one forum, ALL the above topics are discussed under ONE heading. So venture out into the world guys.I don't see many of you in our "regular" areas. There are a few of you, but not many. There are some similarities between our trucks and when you have a problem it sometimes happens to us also.It would be nice to hear about them in the main sections.Example:Engine knock in the engines forum. But not supercharger belt whine problems.Anyone see what I'm saying? Again, I do like to hear about your great trucks. But come talk to us commoners once in a while instead of having us come to your door all the time.

You are entirely correct, and I really appreciate your thoughts.
Hopefully I did not give the impression that lightning owners are elitists, actually almost all of own something else as well, quite often other Ford trucks or vehicles.
I have noticed that I, as well as others, have been participating a lot more on other threads on the board as the "newness" wears off.
The earliest deliveries took place in late April/early May and the thread was hot as a firecracker. Then a bit of a lull, and then the last 2000 or so got picked up in Oct/Nov.
I think it is fairly natural that we got a bit heady about our "supertrucks", then discovered a few problems/a few mod opportunities and tended to stay on the one thread.
We are certainly getting a bit more normalized in the last month or so.

As a side note, I get a lot, a lot, of visitors to my HobbyTown USA due to being a member of this board. It is very interesting to me that about 80% of the visitors are non-Lightning owners. I visit with V-6 owners, X owners, Mustang owners and a lot of older vehicle owners. We all share the common bond of ownership of fun vehicles. Even get several Vette guys and some LT Camaro owners dropping by.
Anyway, I now routinely check about 10 or so threads on the 150 board and try to give input or topical thoughts when I think it may be of interest.
PS: We also have a ranger V-6 as our other company truck and a 2 year old Continental as my wife's driver. I am looking at getting an F250 SD super or crew cab to replace the Bolt when the lease is up. More boards and more threads to look forward to!
Appreciate your thoughts and comments. Thanks.
