PTK uses a 3" downpipe because that's what their standard F-150 kit uses. They never intended to make a kit to make the power like my truck made. They do not offer a 4" downpipe. I fabricated that myself. For ground clearance, I ovaled the tube as it went under the frame crossmember, down to 3". From there, I fabbed up a Y section, because I turned it into twin 3" pipes out each side of the truck.

Jody, the motor in my truck was a dinosaur compared to what's out today. I was running old ModMax cams, and old first design Modmax/Foxlake heads. If those had been replaced with some Stage 2 or 3 Crowers and some Patriot Stage 3 heads, the truck would have easily made closer to 900rwhp.

But for now, I think it still holds the record for most all boost rwhp .

A side benefit to a larger downpipe is lower temps under the hood.

Here's a couple other pics I had of the welds before coating. Look pretty good to me, I'm thinking the coating makes them look worse than they are.

Looks like a really nice kit right up until that sheetmetal intake. That completely turns me away from the kit. I would consider buying it with no intake and maybe converting to a air-air intercooler. No way would I ever stick that box under my hood. Everything else looks sexy to me. -Mat-

I went to Pro Turbo's website just now and see that they're offering a free Snow methanol kit PLUS $500. off on the first five kits ordered for the Lightning. Just in case anybody was on the fence!

That's not that bad of a deal, considering I could probably sell the Mag for 1k, longtubes and highflows for 1k, various other uneeded parts for 500, that brings the price to around that of a KB. If I wasn't in the middle of a build up, and saw some results from others with feedback I would give it a try. Looks like a good deal for others looking to upgrade from a KB.

Thats a great deal...But...Dammit.....I am not ready yet.
I got to go to L Fest first ....then
I planned on tearing down my truck in November/ December and sell all my stuff and buy the PTK kit.

I think I have the longtubes / high flows, KB, JLP upper, MAF tube, etc sold already (as long as they have the money ready )

I wonder what the turbo lag will be like on a 5000 lb vehicle.

There is a tiny bit of lag, maybe a split second or so. Then the tires just blow off.
