I have been told to wait on 2001 Lightning-->
Because they will have the 4-valve per cylinder, heads. Is this true or just a rumor or what? This was posted on another SVT board by someone very high up in a National Lightning club.

I don't think that would happen.
The Dual Overhead cam and the blower aftercooler/intercooler would not fit, so it would be a smart business decision.
The dual overhead engine looks a little taller so that may be a problem, too.
This is like the 100 time I've said this, but I think it is a waste to have 4 valve head with blowers, use bigger (not always) valves, and GET THE CAM RIGHT...
Yes I know that there are a dozen or so good reason to have a blower with a 4V head, but 90% of them are insignicant or hype related.
Now what I would like to see is a better cam, with some more exhaust valve duration... to allow for safer nitrous and more boost usage.
Maybe have the heads or intercooler manifold pre-drilled for a Direct Port wet nitrous system.

Hahahahaha

I read that also ,if that is true it will be same engine that is in the Navigator which is 300hp without the supercharger so it will probably be around 400-420 hp.I got rid of my 99, to many little problems very annoying for a $30000 vehicle.I read there will be a 6 year run on the lightning so I'll be looking again in 2001,hopefully by then they work out all the little kinks.

Hey, everyone said and still says the 5.4 will not fit in a Mustang. So what about Super Stallion? I don't like the rumor mill either. When all the Mustang boys heard the 99 Cobra would have more HP, alot of guys jumped the gun and ordered one. BOY, did they get burned?
