There is no way I would run torque reduction on a motor with high boost and timing to try and get a few more miles out of a tranny. That fart sound is from yanking fuel and throwing it back in on a shift. That might be acceptable for a stock setup with lower boost from the factory but that can't be good for a motor pushed closer to the edge.

The only way I would leave torque reduction on is if the truck stayed stock. With those lazy shifts from the factory the tranny would be toast in no time without torque reduction.
AGREED

ADD NITROUS TO THAT and you def DO NOT want to take fuel away, or shut off 3 cylinders between shifts (no matter how quickly it's done)
Mines been off since 2002, I run the wrong Fluid in the Tranny, it has years of N20 on it, and still works perfect

Soon I will FINALLY start throwing @600HP at it on Spray, so maybe my luck will change :o
BUT
I'd still say WAIT it out, schitt V ran 10's on a stock tranny and it was still perfect when he took it out years later.......

Rob, I would stay with it till it drops no more miles than you have on it.

I've got 64,000 on mine and torque reduction has been off for 60,000 miles. It still feels fine.

I've just got a smokin' deal on a 2400 stall so I ordered an LFP rebuild kit last week. There is no way I'm having the tranny pulled to put the converter in and not rebuild it while it's out with that many miles on it.

I really wanted a BTS but paying for my daughters college and sorority makes the money tree near death.

Dunno about the converter issue, but installing an inline filter ahead of the cooler(s) will prevent debris from ruining them.

Magnefine makes a cheap inline filter than is actually used by Ford when they do a tranny swap.
